I would like to get our end of season banquet scheduled. It would be good to get it in before the end of the year, but I know we're moving in to holiday season and weekends start getting booked up.
What I want to know is :
- who would like to attend ? - what Saturday evenings do you have free between now and the end of the year ?
I'm also looking for ideas on the venue. It makes sense to have it in the Sacramento area as it is the most central especially if our northern contingent are planning on coming, which I hope they do !
I enjoyed the brew pub we went to last year, but if anyone has other suggestions, let's hear them.

I'll be there! November weekends are no good but the 6th, 13th, and 20th in December are open (so far). I don't have any suggestions for venue as it doesn't really matter where we meet. I'll show up to wherever...

When you finalize a date, i hope to make it as well. December is booked, might suggest a party/awards/gathering @ Sonoma raceway.

FYI from Blue Max website; The most common topic about affordability heard around kart tracks has been the cost of tires or more accurately the cost versus the life of the tire. I started a search for a resolution a couple of years ago, tested some products and recently found what I believe to be a solution for a tire that is ideal for the club racer. This tire has a hardness similar to products in use in the area, yet has an extremely long life cycle. This tire has a durometer reading of 56 which is a little softer than a YKC at 58. What really stands out about the tire is the manufacturer rates the tire at over 3000 heat cycles and consistent lap times throughout their life, essentially limited to how long it takes to wear the rubber off of them. This could mean seriously limiting the number of sets of tires needed for a season of racing. The retail price on these are $170 per set. This weekend I am hosting a test at the Blue Max track to put these through as many heat cycles and laps as possible to see how they fair and if they are suitable for an economical option as a spec club tire. There will be several sets of 4.5/7.1” tires and a couple of sets of 4.5/4.5” tires available for testing. Testing will be from from 10:30 am – 6 pm Saturday, 9 – 2 on Sunday. Please respond to this message should you wish to commit to being a part of the test crew and assessment panel.
The goal is to determine if these DeCuzzi tires are a viable option to help get the cost of kart competition down. These are not concession or indoor kart center tires that are hard as a rock. As indicated above, the tires have a durometer of 56. Compare that to the YKC at 58, YLC at 48 and the R60 at 64. It'd be tremendous to find a product that wouldn't sacrifice much in performance while giving long life. So after a weekend of testing and getting driver's feedback, we'll have facts to discuss the possibilities further. -Todd Browne

You can count me and at least one more.
Just to throw what I did last year. The Preserve in Winters is a great pub type atmosphere and a whole lot more centrally located than here in Sac. We just need a certain number to confirm to reserve a room.

Location is not an issue. The fall sports banquet will be on one of the Saturdays in Dec. Don't know which one yet.

Hello Guys- Just an FYI regarding Shasta's schedule for next year. Jeff & Rich have a plan that includes the following:
A quote from Richard: Here's the idea that we'll hope to go with again in 2015. The 2nd Sunday of each month, beginning in Feb, ending in October. July & August will be night races on the 2nd weekend of that month, but a Saturday night race. A potential variable might be the IKF 4 cycle Grands, but that should be resolved soon.
Let's get ready to rumble!

OK guys, we need to get this sucker scheduled. As we discussed some time ago we could do this before or after the holidays. As your CSO (Chief Slacker Officer) I DID get the trophies ordered, and they ARE ready (actually nearly two weeks ago) but with Christmas a week away I'm thinking just after the new year? Let me throw out two dates....1/3/15 or 1/10/15. We can come with a location once we settle on a date. How does that sound?

I vote for 1/10. Long weekend and snow (finally) will make getting to the Sac area almost impossible the weekend of 1/3.
