Just found out that Reno has changed the date of their night race. It will now be held on 9/22. That is the same weekend as the double Redding race. I think most will agree that the Reno night race is one of the highlights of the season for us. So, what to do. Couple options off the top of my head. Option 1 - Go to the Reno night race and then add one of the Redding races not on our schedule. Dates would be either 8-12 (right after the Dixon night race AND Redding in the middle of August? Yuk) or 10-14. Option 2 - Pass on the Reno night race and keep the rest of the schedule intact. Either way we lose another race for the year. Personally I'd vote for option 1. If anyone can come up with any other ideas please throw them out for discussion.

This could be a good time to race at Dixon speedway (cora) on Saterday nite August 18th and you wouldn't miss a race. Plus its near by, and Reno is changing the schedule. You would have three weeks to dust of your stuff befor the two races at Redding.

This is the August 18, 2012, race, correct? If so, they must have told you that because the online schedule still shows August 18, 2012 as the night race.
So I can figure out how I want to respond (with potential options), what time does the Reno night race usually start and finish. I have to be in Prairie City for a September 23, 2012, Crossover race.

Brian from Reno just told Dan and he just told me....The night race usually start around 7ish and finish up between 1-2.

I would prefer to go with Option 1 and add the Oct Redding race, however, that will suck for Ron. Not sure what the answer to that is. I would hope the Reno race doesn't run on until 2am, i think last year was delayed because of the lighting issue in T2.

Unfortunately, regardless of what option we go with we won't be racing on the 18th and Reno is going to have the night race on the 22nd regardless of what we want to do. At least option 1 gets another race on the schedule.
So what are you thinking Ron?

I'll leave it up to you WF guys to decide. But, I wouldn't mind going back to Atwater for a second race there.

Option #1 sounds good to me. We raced last year in October in Redding, the weather was nice but the evening air show was not. I will bring a box of ear plugs this year! I looked at Atwaters' schedule and they have a race on 8/18. if y'all are planning to go to Reno that weekend for a day race I probably won't make it.

As long as the majority votes to do Atwater I'd go for that. Although, to be honest, I was really looking forward to not having any day races in August....

Sorry for the delay, work and then went out of town last night.
I am never one to want to change a schedule drastically during a race season. If a race is cancelled for rain I think we should have to race that tracks rain date. If a race is cancelled for that date altogether I think it is cancelled on our schedule all together.
That being said I don’t think we should move the Reno race on top of the Redding Race and cancel the Redding weekend. That is not fair to Redding, and it completely re-writes our schedule. From a personal standpoint I have calculated my race schedule from the very beginning, knowing what races I can make and those that I can’t, given the Kid Kart race schedule, and the allowable drops.
As for racing Reno the night before the PC crossover, if that is what is decided then I cannot race Reno. The time involved and the lateness of the race would not give me sufficient opportunity to attend both, and make sure my Kid Kart equipment is perfect throughout the day. I will not take a chance of getting too exhausted and doing something wrong on my son's kart. If it was my kart I would take that risk, but not his.
My choice would be that the Reno race is cancelled, and we go forward with the schedule as set forth on our shirts.
Lastly, I wouldn't mind racing Atwater on a particular date, not for points but for fun, because it is not on the schedule.

I'm not a big fan of moving races around either. However, the Reno night race is one that everyone looks forward to and is always the first on the list of races we put on our schedule. If we did the 10/14 Redding race at least we'd keep one of their races on the schedule. Even if we kept the double race on the schedule (9-22/23) you wouldn't be able to make the second day with the PC Xover, right? It would really suck if you couldn't make the night race. While I was going to give you some good natured ribbing about being a HE-man and doing the night race, get a couple hours sleep, drive home, pick up your driver and then go racing the next day, I would be worried about you making the drive back over the hill. So I wasn't even going to go there. Regarding the Atwater race, a non-points, fun race would be the way to go on that. Good call on that. Oh and just so everyone is aware, don't refer to the schedule on the website. As has been pointed out recently it is not correct. It still shows the original schedule before Redding had to move their double race to a different date. I was going to update it when I got the latest points from ScottB. But now I'm waiting to figure out what our schedule is going to be.

So I wasn't even going to go there. I would not be able to make the redding 9/23 race. My plan was to race Redding on Saturday and then miss the Sunday race while I was at PC. From the outset I planned on the Sunday race being a drop, unless my son did not need the points for the XOver or club setting. As it stands now he is 2nd for the crossover and 1st for club. I also confirmed with him at the begininng of the season, that his Kid Kart racing was a priority so he can try to get a Championship like his brother. I will not let him down, or go back on my promise. As being a HE-man I could do the double duty with NO sleep as I know it can be done. I have performed on hundreds of occasions with no sleep over long stressful situations. My only unwillingness is to put my son's safety in my hands under those circumstances. I do not want anything to happen because of a stupid mistake.

The schedule on the website shows Redding Sept 8-9. So what is the issue about Reno on 9/22?
