So who is going to Reno? If you are going what are your travel and sleeping plans?

Anybody check the weather up there yet?

Also heading up early Saturday morning. According to my phone it is supposed to be 88 up there that day. My phone is a notorious liar, however...
Mark, have your ribs healed up enough to join us? How did you do yesterday at PC?
Oh, and for those of you that don't know, Mark is about to take the Iron Man title away from Rich. Not only is he racing the whole NFRA schedule, he is also in the clone points race at Davis and PC.

Way to go Mark. So does that mean Mark will be racing the Reno night and then go to PC for the Sunday Crossover?

I'm trying to arrange this weekend's Reno Race.
My wife would like to come (maybe). If she goes out of the track confines on Saturday, can she drive back in later? I.e., do they close/lock the gate at a certain time?
My P.C. clone race was fraught with problems: fuel line, tire and clone smacking. But, I survived it.
It is a fair bit of work to swap engines, and I will need to do that again this week. Does anybody know a good gear selection for Reno's #2 track layout?
My current plan is to stay at the track on Sat. night. But might stay at a motel, if we can find availability anywhere (its Labor Day weekend) at a "reasonable" price.
What do you guys do for food at Reno?

That would be great to have the Mrs. out there! Shouldn't be a problem heading out from the track if you decide on a hotel on Sat.
Gearwise, close your eyes Simon, Rich and Ron, I'm starting with a 14-63. We'll see how that works out... ;D
Foodwise, there has been some talk about the "Smoke Whisperer" making an appearance. Just a rumor at this point but stay tuned for more details tomorrow.

I'll be there. Arrive sometime on Saturday to see what gear Brad ends up with after that insane starting point. Maybe run one lap just to get the dust off my tires.
I'll probably stay with my friend in Truckee on Saturday night.

Insane? Hmmmmm, seems like my gear choice at Dixon was somewhat outside the norm too, wasn't it? And where did you guys end up? ;D
Rick, your 62 is off the kart and in the box to bring up to Reno. Sorry I didn't return it that night.

Well I am coming down with a cold, have much work to do, have a construction project I have to finish for my mom, and completely lack motivation. Now I have to change gears and/or a driver. This does not bode well for me.

Come on Ron, suck it up. Plus we all know you don't even think about changing gears till race day anyway. So you have 5 days...

I'm trying to. But with so much to do and no time to do it in I am quickly having to prioritize my projects.
I went to the track Sunday afternoon to work on the kart and to try and infuse my blood with some adrenaline. That didn't work. Notwithstanding pushing to the edge and forcing some bad corners just to scare the *$&%*@$ out of me, it didn't work. I left saying "whatever", as well as the need to fix that wehich I broke trying to scare myself.
I hope it is just because I am getting a cold that is sucked the energy out of me.
FYI at Reno it is (1) Labor Day weekend, and (2) Burning Man is in session.

Can you also change my oil, check the valve lash, wipe the kart down, change my tires, and make sure everything is tight (even though I usually don;t check to see that everything is tight)?
