This just in from Redding....

Attention Shasta Kart Racers,

The board has decided to make the last race of the season, Oct 14 a racer appreciation day. In doing so, all racers will race for FREE, their will be no entry fee for any class. This applies to any racer that is now or has been a member of SKK. We will also have a BBQ and refreshments(libations post racing) and a raffle. FREE registration will end at 9 am,(you must still register due to insurance and get a transponder). Tires will not be a tech item,but safety items will be addressed. Track 7 (reversed) will be used. If you know a fellow racer who may not be included in this e-mail string please forward or give them a call and invite them. So, dust off the kart and come join us for a fun day at the track, we look forward to seeing you.

While we aren't technically members of the SKK, this invitation has been extended to the NFRA as well. How cool is that??! We need to provide a head count to the club to help them with their planning.

I'm in! Ron and Simon, we'll understand if you guys can't make it. LOL

I would prefer that you spectate from the sidelines, in the bleachers, or in the pit area. The track can be very dangerous, and spectators should not be on the track. ;D

I BET you would prefer that....and you are right the track can be very dangerous place. Especially when brake rotors are exploding or other various parts and falling off. But I've found that if I am in front of you that is somewhat less of an issue...

Rich didn't have a problem with that. He just picked up my side pod, brought it to the front straight and left it there. Then he HIT it on the way around the second time. See, no problem!

They used to have the track loayouts online. I cannot find them. Does anyone know where they are located?

...so at this point I guess I'm the only one racing.

Well since I said we need to provide a head count to the SKK as a courtesy since they are being nice enough to host us for free racing AND a BBQ, and no one other than me has said he is racing, the assumption is I will be alone.

The track layouts are online. You just can't see them very well

Free racing, free food I will be there, with EAR PLUGS so I can get some sleep. Staying with the weekend theme; I will be offering free sets of ear plugs to NFRA members. 3 NFRA racers only? One way to get on the podium!

I am planning on running practise laps at Davis tomorrow-mid day or so.

Boy Brad is pretty testy. I WILL be there. I already let Dan know. He sent me the layout but I don't know how to post his information. It is backwards from the last October 2011 race with a little chicane in it.
