Nice videos Rich. The start of the main didn't look nearly as ominous on the video as it did from my vantage point in P3. Simon, since you didn't manage to take yourself AND Ron out in turn one I want my $50 back.

Oh, and Rich, what is the deal with hanging back 43 kart lengths on the start? I'm pretty SURE you are supposed to be right behind ME, right? Nice way to get a run though. LOL Well at least it wasn't as bad as the heat race where you almost passed everyone (and/or nearly wrecked yourself) before the start. hehehehehe

Agreed Brad!
But, I can tell you the race directer saw the same stunt, then asked the flagger to double up (put him back) the number of places potentially gaining by jumping the start. Yep, we were all over THAT move! Good thing he didn't stick with it.

I'll get mine edited and uploaded this weekend. The start of the main is interesting. I'll leave you guys to say how Ron and I got all interlocked at the start of the main. It doesn't actually look like how I remembered it.
Dan, nice job as race director. I was very aware of your eyes on me especially on that last lap pass I made on Ron in heat 1 coming up to the chicane. I was thinking "give him room, give him room .... but not too much ....."

I thought that I should be ready with some speed and momentum in case the Briggs & Stratton lawn jockeys ( wait, I'm sorry, fellow racers) got all tangled up in front of me.
Besides, all I could think of is what Brad, Ron, and Simon would be thinking inside their helmets as I went by in the dirt " Where the !@#$%^ did he come from"
In the main I did not even try it. But you guys were so slow thru the corner I got right up in there anyway.

...all I could think of is what Brad, Ron, and Simon would be thinking inside their helmets as I went by in the dirt " Where the !@#$%^ did he come from" Rich, that is usually what we are all thinking...cept once you are in the dirt, that's where you usually stay ;D I thought that I should be ready with some speed and momentum in case the Briggs & Stratton lawn jockeys ( wait, I'm sorry, fellow racers) got all tangled up in front of me. So let me see if I have this straight. You see an impending pileup and you speed up? Ahhhhh, well at least that would explain why, when the track is clear, you slow down. LOL

The start of the Main looked more dramatic in Simon's video, than in Rich's video. Maybe it's because Rich was 300 feet away from us ready for the mayhem. I knew I got a little sideways, but I thought we were closer to the corner.
Do you notice down the back straight I was farther to the right. That's because I didn't want someone squeezing in and taking the corner again (Simon). I also notice Brad didn't leave that opening for Simon to take advantage of like I did.

My favorite part is Ron dissing Brad's fist bump at the start of heat 1 !!

I looked over to him while in the chicane and he was focused on racing. I didn't see him as we turned onto the straight. By that time I thought we were focused on racing. There was no intentional "dissing" involved.

There was no intentional "dissing" involved. Yeah yeah, whaddddddever. I bet you were scoping out punting spots where the RD wouldn't be able to see you....admit it. LOL! Nice video Simon, thanks.

A fun time indeed, made better by a quality group. Thanks guys for making the trek north, and Simon, all was clean through the corner, great pass.
