We had talked about trying to get the banquet scheduled before the holiday season kicks in but due to slackerness (me) the awards just got ordered (thanks Simon!).
So, do we want to try for 12-1 or 12-8? Or the first week or so of the new year? Also, any thoughts on where to hold the festivities?
We'd also like to hand out additional awards for....
Driver of the Year Most Improved Driver Driver Most Likely to Cause a Wreck "Go to" guy/gal for help with mechanical/setup questions
Voting for these awards will be done at the banquet. However, if you are unable to make the party we'll arrange a mail-in ballot for you.

Either date works for me. No preference on venue as long as I can get a beer !

December 8, 2012 is Blue Max Banquet and I will be attending that for the Kid Kart championship award.
December 1, 2012, looks clear.
Awards, re driver most likely to end up in KC (or should I keep my mouth shut)

I wanted to attend the Blue Max dinner also. So the 12/1 date looks good for me

I'd like to come cheer on the gang. Dec 1st would be preferable due to the BMKC banquet dec 8th.

Leo gave me a call yesterday to personally invite the NFRA to join the Blue Max club at their awards banquet. As you may remember I was initially reluctant to combine banquets because I didn't want it appear that we were barging into their event. Leo assured me that wouldn't be the case at all. There would be an upside to combining events. I think over half of us (not me) are members of BMKC and it might make things easier going into the holiday season to be able to knock out two events in one night. When we talked about possibly doing this a while back there was also a sentiment that we should do our own thing. I am good either way as beer will be a part of either option. Here is the BMKC banquet info....one thing to note is the date is wrong I think? I believe it is 12/8 not 12/4. We are having our awards banquet Saturday December 4, 2010 at Sudwerk’s 2001 Second Street, Davis CA, 95618. The banquet will open at 5:00 pm and dinner will be served at 6:00pm. The awards ceremony will follow dinner. We are inviting any one who has participated or is interested in Blue Max Kart Club to attend. This is going to be our year end holiday party as well. It will be a great time to mingle with fellow racers and meet the new board members. You can even bend the ear of the current board members . We will have the room until 10:00 pm. Some highlights of the evening include a 50/50 raffle, Raffle prizes that include memberships, race entries, Merchandise, kart related stuff, Championship and special awards. One of the biggest benefits to attending this year’s banquet will be the opportunity to sign up for the 2011 season at a steep discount. All attendees of the banquet will be able to join BMKC for $200.00 After the Banquet the membership dues go to $240.00 and climbs to $280.00 after our swap meet on Jan 8, 2011. So come on out support your fellow competitors and track staff. Do some bench racing, take advantage of a great deal and take a chance on winning some great prizes. Here are some details you may like to know: Dinner is buffet style. Adults $22.00 ea. Kids $10.00 ea. (up to 12) Sodas are included No host bar is available. Please RSVP via e-mail to Leah Gillmore leahgillmore@sbcglobal.net or text to 916-730-9290. Please RSVP by November 27, 2010 Send pre-payment to Leah Gillmore f.b.o. BMKC, P.O. Box 382 Rancho Cordova CA, 95741 Pre-payment must arrive by Nov 30th 2011 memberships @ $200.00 this night only! Awards, re driver most likely to end up in KC (or should I keep my mouth shut) Sorry Ron, oversight on my part. Perhaps because I just assumed you would be the winner? ;D In fact, I think we should just name this award the "Ron Award"!

That is old information from 2010. The contact person Leah is no longer there. The flyer is at the following: www.bluemaxkartclub.com/2012BanquetInviteScan1.pdf Cost is $25 per person. I did not see a lower price for kids, and I already paid for my two kids to attend (I will be stuffing them with $25 worth of food each). I'll be at the banquet so I am up for killing two birds with one stone, or running over two karts with _____, well you get the idea.

Sorry for the misinformation. When I asked Leo about the details he said they were on Facebook. After we both stopped laughing that neither of us had a facebook account, I ended up creating an account just to get 2 year old stuff. LMAO! Funny how I picked up the day of the month but missed everything else. Oh well....

I had to get a facebook account just to get information. Everyone was telling me it was on FB and I hated it. I don't like to do that stuff but I was forced into it. I still refuse to friend anyone, or otherwise put any information on it other than my name.

Agreed, I think it's a huge pain/mistake when clubs and associations force people to use facebook to get information. I'm glad nobody here has ever suggested we move to FB !

I still refuse to friend anyone, or otherwise put any information on it other than my name. I'm with you Ron. I've never had any desire to have a FB account whatsoever. I, like you, only set one up to get info (turns out WRONG info). So basically I'm saying I took one for the team on this one. I hope you guys appreciate it. LMAO! ... but back to the topic at hand ... are we confirmed on the date of Dec 1st for our banquet ? We aren't confirmed for anything yet. If everyone isn't good with doing our banquet with BMKC I think we should go with our original plan and do our own thing. I haven't heard anyone respond that they can't make 12/1 so let's make that the date. Same place as usual?
