Tire Changes for 2013

For 2013 the World Formula class will be using the MG Reds as the spec tire. We have established a partnership with the Shasta Kart Club which will allow us to buy sets for $175-180 including shipping and tax.

We are in the process of setting up our first order of the season. I plan on starting with 5 sets to begin the season. Please indicate if you are interesting in taking part in our initial order and how many sets you would like.

You are of course able to purchase your tires from any source you would like but you will most likely end up paying well over $200/set elsewhere.

We would like to have a firm count on the number of sets we'd like to initially order by Tuesday.

I'm Definately going to need some sets. Does Keevan need to run MGs as a junior? I'm trying to figure budget here and everything times 2 starts becoming a little scary!

I'll take 5 sets. I'll donate one of the sets for use in the Syd White Enduro.

As for WF junior running MGs ... we should probably have a group discussion. I'm not expecting any other WF juniors other than the long shot of Daniel maybe doing a race, but don't bank on his plans, he may end up doing zero races if soccer is busy.

I suspect we'll have a ready supply of used MGs once we get started, so that's always an option.

I sya let Junior run MG or Burris, unless for some reason we end up with a bunch of Juniors wanting to compete for points then there has to be some consistency.

I have a few Burris that can be put together for at least one or two used sets. I typically get rid of them when I don't think they are useable by anyone.

If people are ok with running Keevan and any other jr on Burris or MGs I'll be happy to relieve Ron of some used Burris' until we have used MGs from the group. It turns out no major group on the west coast routinely runs MG reds with 6.0 rears. You can get used 4.5s from cadets and some 7.1 rears but otherwise no luck. Would the group be okay with that?

Personally, I'd say let'em run either one.

Rich, we should be able to order more as the season progresses but I'm not sure how that is going to work since SKK is still sorting out the details. I'm sure Ron will need more tires as well as 2 sets won't even get him through the first race (although, it probably won't be till June before his kart is ready to race again so he has a little more flexibility I suppose).

So I am counting 19 sets so far. Sound right? How about everyone else? I'd like to provide a count to SKK by tomorrow if possible.

Oh you are a comedian. I'll let you know I am working on my kart constantly to get ready. Okay, well not constantly, maybe randomly. Okay just a little bit. On second thought I haven't worked on it at all.

Gotcha covered there big fella. I included your two sets in the 22 I advised Dan we needed on this first order. I'll let everyone know the details of how this process is going to work once I speak to Dan.
