I will for sure be going to Davis for practice prior to the 21st race. Are the clones coming to that race? I'd love to be able to get to spend some more time helping all of those folks. Maybe even get the Dixon gang to swing by for some laps.

Yes I believe they (Duffy and crew along with Paul & Sammie) are planning on being there. Neil is from the Dixon club. I'll try and get in touch with Karl and some of the other Dixon guys and see what we can setup.

Well, one chassis that I know needs help is Duffy's. He got a set of pills for the front, and we got him set pretty good on toe, camber, and caster, but his kart still doesn't want to turn to the right. So, assuming the frame doesn't have any cracks, the a light right front will cause it to not turn right because it won't jack the right rear. It may be time to give it a good tweak.
I think my plan is to show up to Davis Saturday, June 20th, and get some maiden voyage practice with my F200. So, I will be there to help, if needed. As well, due to budget constraints this month, I don't plan on racing on the 21st, but will stay the day and help where needed, such as 'starter boy'...
And, of course, should you members in high places want to show up on that Saturday with tech stuff, I will be happy to learn the procedure and begin teching on the race...
Same goes for the Reno race on the 28th. I'll be there for practice on the 27th, and will sit out the race on the 28th, but will be there for it's entirely, helping where needed...

Why sit out the race if you are already there? There may be a chance they let us practice for free and race at the members rate.

Well... There are things I need that aren't in this month's budget, particularly tires and a clutch, in order to be race ready... The clutch could wait, but I have 5 races and 8 practice days on my current set of tires, so they are like teflon...
The bottom line is that the current economy has cut our income, and the raise I was going to get in June didn't happen... So, soon, I will put back on the tool boxes on my truck, and will start doing electrical service work, in addition to my desk job, for racing funds... In fact, I'll probably post it in classifieds...
So, I am thinking of sitting out of racing until the Gold Rush starts on August 2nd, which will give me a couple months to get some more racing money together. I figure I can rip around on old tires on the practice day and have some fun, and be there on race day to help...

Well I've got a 2 disk and a 3 disk clutch you are welcome to borrow. If you like one of them I'll make you a deal on whichever one you prefer. On the tires scene, I've got a set of 44s you can have. Of course they aren't brand new but I'm sure they have less than 3 races on them. If you go up to Reno, and don't race, you'll be kicking yourself in the butt I think.

That's a kind offer... Kicking myself in the butt?! That's the story of my life...
If I can get it all together, I might take you up on that... If I don't feel ready, I still don't feel like staying home... Davis practice should give me a good idea, as I know what I can do in an Animal, and I better be faster in the F200! If I feel good at Davis, then I have to admit that I am anxious to try my skills at Reno...
EDIT... Wrong info...

I can't (or won't) do the 20th. I will be out at Davis the weekend of the 13th/14th. I will probably practice myself one of the days along with helping someone else, then the other day will be strictly helping others.

I won't be practicing on the 20th either. I usually avoid practicing on a race weekend because of the number of other folks out there practicing. Being a club race that is less of an issue. However, the other reason I don't do that is because the lack of time to fix something should it break (bent axles etc.) At this point I'm looking to go out there on 6-14.

Yes, I will be there IF my handful of parts shows on Friday as planned... I'm no planning on racing Davis the following weekend, however.

I believe the BSCs will be out there (as many as 5 or 6 of them). Hopefully it will be Dean's first day on the track in his new WF. I will be talking to Roger (new owner of the 17) today and let him know that we'll be out there and invite him to join us.

Dean Jeans and a heavy jacket (Denim is allowed, leather is better). What size are you?, I have several suits that I have, well, um, grown out of. Tennies are fine on your feet. Gloves, all the auto parts places sell "Mechanix" brand gloves that work in a pinch. Between all of us we can fill in any gaps you might have remaining.
