They are taking entries now. Talking to a few of you it sounds like we'll definitely field one kart, so I'm going to go ahead and get our entry in. We'll worry about the minor details, like who is going to drive, what kart we use, which of Brad's motors we want to blow up, etc. at a later date. Rules are here, some small changes from last year, but basically the same kind of deal. montereybaykarters.com/swm/swmdetails.htmlOh ... and Brad, you will need to book your hotel room for Feb 15th, not Feb 8th ;-)

Sounds good. Brad, just book a couple of wrong weekends, maybe we can use those for vacation trips.

Thinking abt the Sid White race but I have NO interest in 'Stock' clone and don't want too use a my 'mod' motor(s). I'd 'like' too take a '206' and blow away the Clones too prove/confirm a point i'm trying too get across.

So do we have a diver lineup yet? Steve/Leo? You meant DRIVER right? Are you guys just spending Saturday night at the hotel? I was trying to book it but they said a Bad Blunder has already booked all rooms for the month of February and March.

I went to Davis to prep for Monterey. I ran a 65 minute session (with one pitstop to fill up the tank) until my kart gave out. The permanent seat strut on the frame sheared off. It still ran okay but the seat was bouncing around. I decided not to chance it by running some more. It was a good day with shifters, Jr1Clone, some rental karts, and some new drivers on the track with me. I had to focus on passing, timing, etc. Except for the seat strut it was an awesome afternoon.

Boy when a seat strut breaks and the seat moves, it really makes you use muscles you never used before. I am achy but still feel pretty good. Hard to believe the race is just around the corner.

A good thing! Now, make sure your chassis tuners @ the SWM keep the kart free, because it's all about the driver's comfort...right?

Good thing we are NOT using my kart. I plan on slapping some seat mounts on to get back out next weekend for another 1 hour session. That will build up some more endurance. We still need to confirm a third driver, or Rich and I are in for a workout.

Get that thing fixed! As for the SWM....New rules this year (might have been pointed at us?) require that no driver may exceed 2 hours, 15 minutes of total time during the 4 hour race.
