Hi,
Wondering if those included parts are OK for (IKF) rules around here? Is this a package that Briggs themselves package together? I presume they are everything except the muffler? I am hoping I can get one before the Syd White race. The ads don't describe the clutch well. Hoping they have interchangeable sprocket.
This will go on either the GP7 chassis (front brakes disabled) or my old Top Kart klunker (currently w/ clone).
Mike.

Mike, Is this the guy in Colorado selling them ? If so, I got one of my motors from him.
In which case, they are complete apart from muffler and clutch.

Oh Cool! Yes one in CO (imiauction) and another in Pasadena. Same price but CA guy charges $22 shipping and possibly sales tax (what?!)
Both ads list a clutch though. And just as I was typing this response I got a response from the CA guy. I'll order one. Any special muffler for Syd White and NFRA? Might be easier to get it and the bracket from the same place.
------ Hello
Yes it's box new, legal for IKF & WKA. They're delivered with 16T & 17T interchangeable #219 sprockets.
To get the motor kit running on a kart, additional items needed are: Motor mount, exhaust muffler, muffler bracket, throttle cable and fuel line.
There are no battery or cables included. IKF rules allow for removal of the electric starter, that's the way most people run them. They always pull start very easily.
Thanks

Also I thought these engines run on #35 chains not 219. I am ordering mine now - just getting the motor and RLV silencer kit. I've no idea what ratios I'll need for Infineon (local) but I'll search around for info for Davis/Dixon/MBK. I have a BMI mount for my clone but I'll switch to the Burris 15deg since that seems to be the hot ticket...

You can run either a 35 or 219 chain, either is sufficient, but that 219 is lighter, so keeping the clutch in great shape is a must. We used 219 for the Syd White Memorial last year, it held up fine. Extra effort must be given to the chain-of-your-choice for that 4 hour enduro, some will heat up wax, then soak the chain in it. If you need some assistance on gear ratios, for Marina or Davis, or.....just ask! Lastly, either a 5 or 15 degree mount will work, choose a good oil too. Best of luck!

We run #35 chains, but those clutches always come with #219 drivers, which is annoying (there is no ready supply of split #219 rear sprockets). Order a 14 tooth and a 15 tooth #35 driver, and you'll be good for all the sprint tracks in the area. We run 14 tooth pretty much everywhere apart from Atwater where there is a massive straight and huge banked turn 1, so a 15 works well.
Some of us run the starter, others (the weight challenged) don't.
The burris mount is good, as you don't want ANY flex in the motor mount plate.
Yup, RLV silencer kit is what you want.
You might want to get a jet kit as well, but the shipped jets will get you up and running just fine.
Glad you are jumping into the WF game Mike !

Cool! I think this will be the first race-able kart I'll have owned. Since my old Top Kart is #35 right now and I've got splits from 53 thru 65 I think I'll get the 14T and 15T drive sprockets. The place I ordered the engine from sells a pretty good selection of both 219 and 35 split and one-piece. I'll check if they have a WF jet kit. Nice to have a range on hand and if they know some likely sizes it will be handy (the Carb parts link on the site does not work it seems though!). I have one set of 6" rims and three 7" so I will get just a rear pair of 6" and the MG reds - or maybe I should just order two sets now. Gosh I hope I don't need to use two whole sets for that race... www.seventh-gear.com/store/sprocket219.php
