Hello,
Well our BSP Clone has been broken in with a couple track days on straight 30 weight per the guy I got the motor from. I have been researching what oil weight to run now. I found real fast that there are 100 different answers and opinions to that one "simple" question.
A common theme seems to be synthetic 5W20? I am open to suggestions. This kart is being driven by a first time 12 year old karter mainly in Dixon. Not concerned about what oil weight might give me a 1/2 hp advantage ( I read that somewhere) but more interested in an oil and weight that is readily available at the local Orielly or Autozone and is going to help with the longevity of the motor and not break the bank changing it after each track day.
Thanks for any info, Ryan

I opt for 5W20. I use the Redline 4 cycle kart oil that I get online from suppliers. I run it in my World Formula, and my son's Clone (Jr1 - 9 year old). www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=88&pcid=26I know Tognittis in Sacrametno carries something similar. Most change their oil after each practice day, or race day. I am one of the run it until I get enough energy to change it. Redline has done well for me. I have not looked for oil at ORielly or Autozone.
