That age-old question can only be met with the response, which side of the bell-curve are you on? Early in the season (cold tires & cold tracks) that stiff axle might lead to the labeling: EPIC FAIL, but the middle of July, it just might produce big smiles. There are so many influencing factors (ride height, caster/camber pills, kart balance, chassis stiffness, driving style) that come into play, along with tire compounds. My suggestion, if the axle worked for you in the past, go test with it, and keep really good notes on adjustments. Usually, the heavier the class (over 370#) the more karts become over-hooked in warmer weather, the better a chassis reacts to a stiffer axle. I've run Italkarts, and my preference is the stiffest axle possible, until a trip to Reno or an early-season race in mild weather begs for a change. Much has to do w/ the C.G.(center of gravity) as to how you transfer weight in the kart.
