Looks like we will be going with the MG Reds again this year. Our tire purchase partner from last year has changed tire compounds for '14 so we won't be able to work with them this year but we are looking to setup some sort of bulk purchase. In order to get pricing information we need to know how many sets we are likely to purchase. So, if you are interested in tires for the '14 season please reply to this post by March 1st with the number of sets you would want. At this point that isn't a binding number but please be as accurate as possible. We hope to be able to get the price right around last year's level of $175/set delivered to the NFRA garage.
I'm thinking 4 sets.....

4 for me as well.
If anyone needs some old ones for practice tires ... I have LOADS of them. Take them before I set fire to them and toss them in the creek, bay, or some other protected environmental area.

I'll take 3. That is sets, not just 3 tires.

Just received word that the company we got the tires from last year won't be able to do anything for us this year. So, it looks like we are on our own. Maybe we can buddy up and buy boxes of tires from that Italian Motors place.

And the waters keep getting muddier...the rest of the back story. Our previous source pointed us to SKUSA, which is the exclusive MG distributor in CA. I was quoted $211/set PLUS tax, PLUS shipping <double eyeroll> The Italian Motorsports source Rob found only sells the 7.1 rears. Spoke with John at Fastech. $208 w/free shipping but also CA taxes. Although, if we were to buy in case quantities and we picked up the tires, he said he could knock off $20-25. Our first race is down in his neck of the woods so maybe we could make that happen?

I'm in favor of getting them from Fast-Tech.

I asked John to give me a price for 18 sets (come in multiples of 6 and we need at least 15) including tax. As soon as I hear back from him I'll post the final per set price in this thread.

John's quote was $205/set. Basically the tax eats up what we save in shipping. Let's continue this dicussion in the members only section. PM or email me if you don't know or remember the password.
