A 12 year old would be Jr-II wouldn't she ? You are correct, I learned that after this post. I guess the question I still have said better is what is that max RPM you can gear for with a clone and still have a pretty reliable motor for the year?

That's right blue restrictor is JRII. JRI is purple restrictor.
Some people get them turning around 6750 but that is really pushing it. Don't let temps go above 425. Also just because you get it high does not mean you are in the power range. I usually shoot for around 6100-6300 but no more.
Although much of it depends on gearing, most of it will depend on how smooth she is coming out of the corners. If she comes out really slow then it will take longer to get up to RPM, and you will need more gear. But if she comes out really fast then you can use less gear and she will have more RPM because the engine will not work as hard.
For my son, I simply found a range of gear he was comfortable with (I forgot to check when I got home), and then had him practice. The more practice he got, the smoother he got, and the RPMs rose more because of his corner speed rather than gearing. When his corner speed improved and he had too much gear, he would max out down the straight. I then started changing to a smaller gear to compensate for his improved driving.
In short, practice practice practice.
