I would not be surprised to see this class grow to be the biggest class of NFRA by next year...
So, how many of you speed demons would race clones if you don't have enough interest in your WF or F200 class? I would!

I can't afford to refresh my F200 yet and I don't want to run it until its rebuilt. I've had two new HF engines on the shelf since last fall. I finally opened one of them and pulled the gov, tank, and oil sensor yesterday. If I can get it set up with what I have on hand I hope to be out there next weekend for practice.
I've learned that the CARB version is more than just a label. The engine is equipped with evap recovery and exhaust air injection systems.

The evap system disappears by removing the fuel tank and air filter box. The air injection is attached to the exhaust/muffler and goes away when installing a header. I am going to retain the stock exhaust system. I am also going to keep the air box. The vapors are introduced before the filter so the extra hole will only help.

I personally don't care WHAT I race as long as the it doesn't routinely blow up. Or, if it DOES blow up, I can get it running again very inexpensively. So, I guess in answer to your question, yes, I'd race a clone. ;D

The air injection system (basically a check valve) interferes with the chain guard. I am going to unbolt the air valve and plug the port. We will want to allow such a mod in our rules.

No, its something that hangs before the stock muffler. The blakc hose is the breather (above the baffle plate) and the blue line is the pulse line (should be below the baffle).

Yes, assuming yours is a CA engine you removed it when you installed the header. If you are practicing Sat I will stop by so you can have a look.
Have you had any issues with the pulse line? I tapped the side cover per AGK. It filled after about 10 laps.

no i have not had any problems with them i have done about 3 now i think i got the whole clone build down to about 30min ready to be on the kart... what exactly happened to yours

The pulse line is tapped into the crankcase via the side cover per AGK. I used the rectangular Mikuni pump from my F200. Oil makes its way up the pulse line, past the high point and settles in the pump. After about 10 or so laps there is enough oil sitting on the diaphragm that it stops pumping.

A friend of mine built a TAG clone and had the same problem. Tried a longer loop in the hose....same problem. He ended up cutting the ends off a real small fine bristle (spiral wound) stainless steel brush and stuffing it up in the line. The oil now collects in the bristles and drains back down into the crank case. Problem solved (at least in his case anyway).

why wouldnt you just tap it in the valve cover it collects oil but not enough to stop you and ever so often you have to clean it out check out my pic
