Didn't even see that coming. Either they kept it secret, or I have been too busy to catch it.

Stopped by the track after work yesterday. The police bomb squad was just packing up their stuff and they said I could go out and walk the track. The new surface is brand new parking lot smooth. They made some of the corners wider with new curbs. Looks to be a whole new track experience. Can't tell if they smoothed out some of the big bumps with out driving it. Plan on racing there this weekend so will give you my opinion after that. This may take away one of our major complaints about this track!

I didn't drive it, I just went up to support the NFRA drivers, but it looked really good. They have done a stunning job with the resurfacing. Lets hope the ground doesn't move too much and it stays like that for many years to come.

The track is a huge improvement on the old track. Not perfect but still way better. It is my understanding that they are going to wait for a while and then go back with rollers and fine grinding to take care of any obvious imperfections. They have widened the back straight and a couple of corner areas. whole new lines are required in some of the corners
Driving the track was very interesting. It was all over the place on practice but Sunday stayed cool and the track was a little more consistent. Started a burning off the front tires( a new one for me ) but then noticed our times were almost a second faster without working at it. So our corner speeds are going to be faster. A few front end adjustments and I had a set up that was comfortable.
Not the turn out we had at the first race. Nor the result I was hoping for but it was good racing, and fun. Slower karts played a huge roll in the outcome.
Congratulations to Leo for the win
A sincere apology to Mr. Bundy #38 for seriously hard hit in the back that bent his bumper and eventually flattened his tire and cost him a position. It was my mistake and did not see that he had been slowed down by a really slow kart in front of him. Totally my mistake.
