Dixon July 25, 2015, Saturday. Why is it something always comes up on race day? I can (1) race, or (2) go on a mountaineering trip to Devils Peak.
So the race is coming up and I have done absolutely nothing to prepare. Shocking! Because this is KPX, we can run Bridgestone tires, right?

Are you guys still doing the Redding night race? If so, when is that?

I see Redding night race is August 8, but I don't show it on our schedule.
My notes at the office show something different then the website. But then again I have not been very organized this year. (shut up Brad)
2015 Race Schedule 03-08 Atwater 04-12 Redding 05-03 Prairie City 06-07 Reno 07-25 Dixon KPX (Night Race) 08-30 Davis KPX 09-19 Sonoma KPX 10-18 Redding 11-01 Fresno KPX

The Redding night race is NOT on the schedule but, Simon and I both discussed that we wanted to go just for the fun of it. I'm still willing. ( Jeff was talking about getting Simon and I some animals to race with) On a side note several of the shifter guys have talked about going up there for the night race. Evidently Redding was pulled from there schedule for some reason and some of them want to go up there and race. Back to the tires. Simon and I have directly asked Kenny about KPX tires. All we got was a noncommittal shrug and told what ever we wanted to run. I talked to some Marina guys at the Sonoma race and he was pretty sure that not many guys are going to be willing to travel and strap on some weight for this series So we are left with not much direction or info. Simon and I have discussed just making it an open tire kinda thing. No one is going to dominate because they have some new Bridgestones on. If anything they are overly sticky for us. Just want to be sure that we do not eliminate us from any KPX prizes or swag by our choice of tire. I would like to finalize this because I need to buy some Bridgestones if they are required. Ron, Just got back from my Yosemite backpacking/climb trip. All the climbs were rained out. Got stuck at 10,000 ft. just under Clouds Rest In the middle of the biggest thunderstorm I have ever been in. Three strikes with in 100ft. Thought I was going to die. In the middle of the storm I was huddled in my tent, wet, tired, trying not to jump at every crack of lighting. But I had cell phone reception!!!

Is the intent to 1) coordinate race dates with the KPX series or 2) compete in the KPX series?
If 1) NFRA rules and points as normal (MG/Hoosier, 390#, NFRA points) If 2) KPX rules and exclude the races from NFRA championship
During scheduling I assumed we were simply coordinating with KPX.

And who is "Louise"? I thought the intent was to coordinate, but for those that wanted to race the KPX then we would do their tires and it would still comply for NFRA.

I know a couple of people that were going to go but they backed out because the storm was coming in. I did not know you were stuck in it. that can make you (1) wonder why you do it, or (2) make you want the adrenaline more to keep going. if I was there with my boys it would be (1), if by myself probably (2).

Is the intent to 1) coordinate race dates with the KPX series or 2) compete in the KPX series? Both 1) and 2). As far as NFRA points go we'll still be 390lbs but allow Hoosier, MG Reds or Bridgestone for all 4 KPX races. As Rich says I don't think the BS tires are a significant advantage, but allowing BS allows anyone that wants to compete for NFRA points AND the KPX championship points to be legal for both. People who only want to get NFRA points are not forced to buy different tires and can just take a DQ for KPX but still get NFRA points. Make sense ?

Of course this depends on the KPX people even caring what the old guys in the Wfs are even doing. So far the not much response.
Does anyone even know what the KPX awards are ? I know Briggs is kicking in some cash.

Both 1) and 2). As far as NFRA points go we'll still be 390lbs but allow Hoosier, MG Reds or Bridgestone for all 4 KPX races. The rules package does not currently permit Bridgestones. Perhaps you could put a KPX exception to a vote (e.g. KPX and NFRA rules permitted for KPX series races). Why am I being a PITA? Tires have already factored into the points standings this season and we should be consistent. (This isn't F1. )
