Lost the exhuast studs again. At least this time I recognized the sound and got off the track before melting my armpit again...
What's the trick I am missing? I am considering some form of safety wire. I assume studs are still the way to go, while on my old Star I had socket cap screws safety wired to hold the exhaust on.

So, can't you drill the end of the stud past the nut and safety wire it? It would keep it from spinning out, and keep the nut secure.

I thought the point of the header brace was to prevent the weld on the header flange from cracking. How does the brace help prevent the studs from vibrating loose? I am really leaning towards safety wiring it somehow. The red loctite is clearly not working to my statisfaction.

The brace will help as it takes the tension off the studs.. always checking the nuts for tightness is mandatory and will help to keep the problem at bay.. Only takes a sec. Your using the RTV method of sealing the pipe to the head right? throw the gaskets away, they are a pain. BTW, If any of you have owned a V8 car with headers, you will appreciate the fact that we only have ONE pipe thats easily accessible to deal with.
