I am wondering what gearing you F200 guys like for Davis?
In my Animal, I ran 13/59, and hit 7600 rpm, so I am guessing a few more teeth for the F200...
Thanks...

I've used a few gear combinations there. Initially I went with a 14-69. But depending on the day it has ranged anywhere from 14/67-69.

Ha, same as Ron here. 14:68 is what I practiced with the other day. I am gonna try 14:70 in qualifying and see what happens.

A 70t sprocket is likely to be an expensive choice. Hope you have two or three of them.

I'm going to stay in the throttle a little longer. That requires less effort than changing gears. If I change gears and it's wrogn, then I have to change back. To complicated.

I got a burst of energy and went out to change the gear. I thought I had all the gears but I only have 63, 64, 65, and 68. Ahhh, this beer tastes good now that my work is done.

I like the 14:68 combo myself. I max out at 8800 rpm at Davis. From what I here, I tend to rev a bit higher than most, but nothing has let go (yet) If you are exceptionally smooth and can carry lots of speed everywhere, you can venture into the lower numbered sprockets. -PV#99

OK, that gives me some numbers to work with. I definitely don't want to spin past 8500 rpm...
Thanks
Happy Racing!

I've had such bad luck this year I have no idea. I haven't gotten a single lap time reading and have only been to Davis 2 times with a total of about 20 laps, most of them this last weekend. And I haven't set up the MyChron for times because the pickup was not connected.
Last year two days after I bought the kart (with zero laps in it), I ran 41.2 but felt horrible because the kart drove so different from my other kart. I am feeling better in it now that I have a couple of sessions in it. But by far I am still trying to get the feel for it. Unless my senses are off I am probably between around 40.0 to 40.8. I am just getting used to the feel of it.
Todd are you going to be at the race with supplies?

I want to spin past 8500, but for some reason I can't right now. Are you saying you cant get the engine above 8500 no matter what gear you put on it?? I will be at the track on Sunday but my trailer is still loaded up with a bunch of my dads stuff from his house and the brakes are not working.. Ill be bringing some stuff with me in the truck so if anyone needs something special let me know. Will you be out on Saturday Ron?

Todd, your question would imply that I (1) changed a gear, and (2) know what the RPM's are at any given point in time. Last weekend I know I never exceeded 8100, but felt like it still had power at the end of the straight. I know I am not confident enough coming out of the corners in this kart to roll into full throttle quicker (as I am in my KT). But that just comes with practice (which I don't get). I am probably 11-15 feet behind my KT as I roll into full throttle. That 10 -15 feet earlier to full throttle could be enough distance to have me at 8,500, only practice will tell. But in the meantime I was thinking of change a gear or two to see.
I can come to the track Saturday and pick up stuff, because I need oil for 4 races, gears (I have 63, 64, 65, and 68 - and want 66, 67, 68, 69, and 70), valve cover gasket, and head gasket.

Well, i figured i would come out on Saturday for a little bit to help tune if you had your kart. If not, i will just come Sunday with the stuff and add support.
