At Blue Max Todd asked me when the last time I cleaned the air filter on the F200. I said "Clean the air filter?" After taking off the cover I noticed how black it was. Last night I invested in the K&N cleaner and oil. It doesn't even look like the same air filter now.
I am looking forward to hitting the track with the same carburetor settings to see the impact.
I guess I do a different setup now (1) air in tires, (2) gas in tank, and (3) make sure air filter is clean.

Ron - its REALLY important to keep the air filter clean. I personally wash and re-oil after every other race. With a hole only .790" in diameter, you need as much air flow as possible. Aslo, remember that your filter when on track is only a foot off the ground at the most and is subject to a lot of crap that an automotive filter never sees. And if you are at a sandy track its even worse. Your engine will love you for it. -PV#99

My best time at Davis was 40.2. So this should REALLY help because I've never cleaned it.

change the oil on filter, or in the crankcase. I change the crankcase oil for each race. I just got the oil for the K&N Filter.

I get it. I am slow today.
I guess I do a different setup now (1) air in tires, (2) gas in tank, and (3) make sure air filter is clean, (4) change the oil.
