Hopefully it was just a rocker. Did you notice any excessive vibration before it stopped running?

Well, I just got home... I stayed at my sister's in Pope Valley... So, I haven't looked yet... Tomorrow, I'll do some investigating... I didn't notice anything before it shut off, so who knows...
But, you can be sure I'll post what I find!

OK, I woke from my nap and decided to take off the valve cover... and discovered one of the push rods stuck through it's rocker... So, easy fix... I believe I have spares...

Examine the other good rocker, If they have not been changed in a while i would replace both rocker arms as a set... cheap insurance. Check for pushrod straightness as well.

I'm definitely going to replace both rockers, and at least the push rod for the broken rocker, even though it seems fine... I don't think the push rod is supposed to stick through the rocker...

lol... Paul, if your engine is the XKE i cant help ya but if its based on the Kohler "Command Pro" The Yamaha parts do interchange.. In other words if you need some rockers from a "local" shop you know where to find em.. We also have the upgraded carbon pushrods that will help that will help with this problem.

Hmmm... The motor is a CH6 something or other... I have one rocker and 3 push rods... So, the motor is up and running again, but I do want to replace the exhaust side, and have spares... I know where to get the genuine Kohler parts, and I know the part number for the rocker...
How do the carbon push rods help from breaking a rocker?

How does your engine run with "one rocker and 3 push rods". I know I am not the best mechanic but that doesn't sound right.

:)Ron, I had one spare rocker and 3 spare push rods. Now I have no spare rocker and 2 spare push rods... So, I want to be able to replace the rocker on the exhaust side, as well, while still having spares in my toolbox... Hope that clears it up!

They are a bit lighter and dont flex, im sorry, they are actually "chromally"... The rockers could be "dancing" (floating), that is usually what causes that. I think you have the legal Kohler C6 XKE

So Paul, where your Rockers adjusted correctly??? No... I forgot from the previous race... The exhaust was waaayy too loose, and I bet the intake was, as well. I actually know better, and just never took off the valve cover... Let that be a lesson! Doh!! Needless to say, they are back to being adjusted, and she fires right up...
