Other than driving through Atwater to go to the Merced Court I know little about the track. I've read up on line about how fast the track is and conclude that I again will have to change a gear between PC this weekend and Atwater on August 23. Any ideas?

Why does it change it to Athingyer?

Why does it change it to Athingyer? It has to do with the obscene language filter on the board. It you remove the A and ER from Atwater (the actual spelling, not what it is changed to), what do you have? LOL Paulski was kind enough to do a great deal of research (pretty sure it was going to be his doctoral thesis) on the subject and generated a huge list of words that can and can't be used on this site. I see he edited his post back in June to protect any youngsters that might come across it research. ;D

Just curious - does spelling the track name or city name correctly cause a problem with the site?

I don't think it causes a problem per se. It's just the content filter will just change the words around. Spelling it correctly won't make any difference.

Now my brain has been warped. It never crossed my mind that the computer was doing that on purpose until I actually posted.
Okay this is not a At Water thread, I need gearing information beause it takes me three weeks to change gears. But that may not matter because my tires are garbage. If I don't get new tires I don't race.
I still haven't changed the gear from the Dixon race until the PC race this weekend.

Are you sure 3 weeks is enough time to change gears Ron? heheheh sorry, couldn't resist. ;D
You may want to get in touch with Scott to see if he has a set you can buy (or replace with set if and when you get in touch with the local distributor). Let me know if you want his number.

I need his number. You have my email address.
Three weeks is pushing it. It takes me two weeks to think about it. Then it takes 4 days to look for the parts. Easily 2 days to find the tools. On the last day I go to the track, and then panic and change the gear. Then someone has to be a smart __ and tell me I should add a tooth or remove a tooth, then the whole process starts over again, but crammed into the time between Heat and Main.
Oh and don't get me started about having to put chain lube on after I change the gear.

I personally don't want to run anything not in compliance with the rules. That is not me. With my luck I would win and get DQed which has far reaching ramifications in my mind as an individual, racer, parent of a racer, and Board member of a track.
If I ran different tires theoretically I should not be there. If I am and I qualify in front like last time that would impact the race and positioning of everyone behind me.
