Why don't you put a clone on your kart and come play with us some time?

Well, I don't have a clone to put on right now. I know, I know, you guys are nice enough to have offered to let me borrow one but I hate using someone else's equipment should something catastrophic happen. I main reason I'm reluctant to throw another motor on is I'm right in the middle of swapping over my sprint package for my road racing package as I have a race at Thunderhill a week from Saturday. And being lazy (yes, Ron and I are kindred spirits apparently ;D) I didn't want to take my sprint package off, put on a clone, take it off, put my RRing package on, and then have to have my sprint package ready to go by the Friday following the road race. With all that wrenching I'm already bound to break something so one less swap the better. LOL
But, having said all that, I will be out there to support you guys on Sunday night! Not sure what corner Jessie will be sticking me on but I will have a front row seat for the race!

BradW you have to many packages. You are also doing too much work. I found out last weekend what it was like to wrench for my son, and me not race. I was pretty bored. But by the end of the day my back was killing me.
After attending the Dixon night race last year I was really looking forward to it this year. But the powers that be are not making it possible. Have a blast at night it is an experience you will not forget.
Hint: put lots of air in the tires.

Race night at the Kinsmen track in Dixon is having a night race this weekend and the clones are racing on Sunday, So if you read this and want to race your clone. load it up and head out to the Kinsmen track and lets race.

That would be John's former kart. He sold it a few weeks ago which is too bad. The good news is it looks like the guy he sold it to will be racing. I understand that he also bought John's spare motor so he can build another WF kart. John called me late yesterday afternoon to see if I was going out for practice last night and said his friend was planning on racing this weekend. Since I had already committed to Jessie to work the race I told John racing this weekend is out for me. BUT I plan on having a blast watching you guys!

What happened to John?? I know he hurt his knee. Did he lose interest?

No I don't think he lost interest exactly. In fact, I think he has been out at the track more than ever. The bigger issue is the pounding karting does on your body. He hurt his back so bad last year karting that he almost sold all of his stuff before he even made it to a race. Being sore after a race is one thing but when your injuries begin to affect your ability to go to work, well, I think this latest episode has gotten John to the point where felt he can't keep doing this.

That's a bummer. I know my neck suffers from racing... Too bad, because he was getting fast...

Yes it is too bad. And yes, he was f'ing fast...expecially for someone so new to the sport.
Dean, I'm not exactly sure when the racing starts but Jessie told me to be there by 4 (which means I'll be there by 3).

Last night was such a fun night of racing, Both my son's and I, Plus Big Paul, His son P.J. and all our family members had such a great time under the lights racing. My thanks go out to the Kinsmen Kart Club for putting this all together for us. Lets do this more often. Also I'd like to thank our very good friend Scott Smith #27 who took over in pits and helped me from the start to the very end, Scott made my night of racing , Thanks Scott, Sure is nice belonging to the NFRA where a bunch of guys take the time to help each other and can still get on the track and have fun.
