Anywhere else in the U.S. 4 cycles dominate the dirt oval racing scene, but here in Norcal there is nary a single race. Keep an eye on the below thread, maybe something coming to Stockton soon. norcalkarters.info/board/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=494

Sounds like fun to me. Always wanted to try dirt ovals. Don't you need a chassis setup for dirt?

Sounds like fun to me. Always wanted to try dirt ovals. Don't you need a chassis setup for dirt? Only if you are racing against other folks with a dirt chassis. Otherwise we all race each other on an even playing field as long as we all run our sprint chassis (ie my offset dirt kart stays in the garage).

We moved from GA to CA 2 1/2 years ago, bringing with us 2 UltraMax off set chassis and z3)WKA spec'd motors. We only run dirt ovals and have been to 54 differt tracks back east. We got here and only found 3 dirt oval. Now only 2, Tulare County Kart Club (11 summer races) and Chowchilla, indoor dirt bullring, this is a 12 race series. Both of these track are what I call outlaw track, no sanctioning body, no tech, lack of safety, ran usally by one dictator. The Delta Speedway has cancelled the kart races, 100 karters said they would be there, 10 showed up. Kenny Pararo may try it later, only with pre-registration. We run our 600 sprint there, nice nice facility.
