How do you guys with helmet cams attach them to your helmets ? Do the mounts just velcro on, or something more mechanically sound ?

I had Brad W. helmet cam at the Kinsmen Night Race last week and he put it on for me, so you will get your answer from him. But what ever way it stuck on there it's on there. I think it was a tab glued on and then the camera hooks to velcrow.

I only have experience with Go Pro camera mounts, the helmet mount has an adhesive tape that works great.

I've used the GoPro and Tony Hawk helmet cams. The TH cams come with what is essentially a big rubber band that goes around your helmet with an attachment that the camera clicks into. The GoPros come with about 5 different attachment plates (some slightly concave to take into account the curvature of the helmet and some flat) that are the "male" piece to the camera housing female piece. Whatever adhesive they use is pretty good. If it can stay stay attached doing 80 at TH is should work anywhere. ;D
It also comes with a big old suction cup (3" or so) but I think that is designed more for cars-although, I believe Randy was using the suction cup attachment to attach it to his daughters helmet.
