Ok I am finishing up my clone project and wondering what gearing to put on to run at Davis and the other local tracks. I have the 16t gear on the clutch. Also I was wondering what RPM range am I shooting for on a clone engine.
As always thanks for the help...

Gear for 5,600 end of straight. You can go higher if your having probs getting out of the slower turns but if your bouncing the valves the springs will sack out quicker. 16-60 is a good all around for Dixon, PC and Stockton but I'd have a 59 & 61 in the box. At-Water 16 - 53 or 54. Not sure about Davis 16-62 or 63? maybe even a 64 if running the short track.

When I tested at Davis I ended up at 15:60, which would be the same as 16:64.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like it you let it rev up to 6grand valve float will be a issue. So I guess red line is about 5600 then is that correct?

Yes, my motor seems to go best when I gear it to hit 5600 at the end of the straight. Some motors don't seem to be able to get there, others will rev a bit higher, but aim for 5600 initially and see how it goes.
