Looks like a thin clone field for tomorrow. Only me, Vinnie and Neil sighted so far. Any other clones out there ? Come out, come out, where ever you are, we could really do with more than 3 karts.

Ok, here's a quick recap .... We only had 3 karts in attendance, me, Neil and Vinnie Cervelli. We qualified Vinnie, me, Neil. What made me laugh was the Cervelli/Whitworth front row was echoed in the HPV-1 race where Vinnie's son, Sonny, and my boy Daniel qualified 1st and 2nd respectively. Heat race - I nearly missed the start as I was in the middle of a gear change on Daniel's kart when Neil's son, Ryan, ran up shouting "Simon! Are you racing ??". Thanks Ryan !! Anyway, Neil did a great job at the start pushing the inside line past me on the outside, leaving me in 3rd after T1. We chased each other hard, but that was the way we finished. Not a huge difference between us. Main - as we were about to roll out for the main we decided to invert the grid for fun. It wasn't until I was halfway round my warmup lap that I realized I had never had to start a race before, so I got a bit confused (note to self, must learn what crossed flags acually means ;-) ). Anyway, Neil got a great start on the outside and I fell back to 2nd by T1. It was pretty cold and slippery, so the first few laps were a case of who was brave and trusted their setup to not understeer right off the track. I kept fairly close to Neil and then Vinnie got a run on me and put me down to 3rd. We both then closed the gap on Neil and had 1,2,3 all very close. Vinnie got by Neil to win, but the gap wasn't huge ... Oh, and I span on the last lap ... so the gap from 2nd to 3rd was quite large.
A fun (but windy) day, and we still managed to have fun with just 3 karts. I'm hoping the Goldrush Race will bring back the usual chaos and mayhem we know and love !
Video ? Sadly not, I bought a spare motor from Harbor Freight on the way up on Saturday, and also bought 2 packs of AA batteries for the helmetcam while I was there. Top Tip from Simon ... Stay away from cheap chinese batteries from harbor freight .. they suck !
