Paul and I attended the annual NCTA meeting this weekend. In addition to the usual entertainment of the various tracks arguing over who gets IKF races this year there were a number of interesting things that came out of the meeting.
1) There are gonna be clones in them thar hills! Looks like the Reno club expects quite a few clones for the coming year. At this time they are looking at at least 10 clones to be running at their club races this year.
2) Stockton hasn't been the most 4 cycle friendly track around. But it looks like that will be changing this year. Chris, the Stockton operator is interested in getting clones up and running for next year. They are watching what we and the Kinsmen club are doing in terms of rules and will most likely implement something based on what we do.
3) The Bridgestone's contract with the IKF expires at the end of THIS year. IKF has proposals in hand from 5 manufacturers but haven't made a decision on what they will be doing for the '10 season. I kept thinking, they are just NOW reviewing proposals?? Glad we aren't tied to what they are doing. ;D
I think those are the highlights but hopefully Paul can add more if I missed something....

Brad - that was pretty good synopsis. Here are a couple of things from my notes to add:
- The guys from Redding say the have a pretty good count of 4-cycle drivers up there. I knew they had some but the way they were talking it sounded like they had a fairly large number. Paulski - care to comment on that?
- Roger reported Road racing is pretty healthy and their kart counts have held steady.
Rick Luther from Dixon was elected President of NCTA Les Hand (Joey's dad) was elected VP Cindy Duhn was elected Secretary and Treasurer
There will be six (6) IKF Reg. 11 races for 2010 season as follows: - Davis Feb 6-7 - Dixon Mar 6-7 - Stockton Apr 10-11 - Atwater May 1-2 - PC Jun 5-6 - Reno Jul 10-11
- There will only be one 4-cycle class which will consist of 2 engine packages : Animal on alcohol, and WF on gas. Weights are TBD.
- Clubs that don't get a IKF race will be paid $2000 each by NCTA to make up for the revenue loss of not holding a race. They include Medford, Monterey, and Redding
- Because of the rather short series, there will be no throw-away races.
- All IKF races will be one-day events (practice Sat/race and qual. Sun).
Note: while most of what I have included here isn't directly releated to NFRA, I mention it in case some of you out there have a WF or Animal engine and are looking for additional avenues for racing beyond what the NFRA schedule has to offer.
- Clone Racers, keep making noise. All of the clubs are really starting to take notice of you! All of the clubs have noticed the exponential growth and want you at there clubs racing. Like Brad stated, Reno is looking to be real hotbed for clone growth and Stockton seems to be warming to it as well. Keep it up!
- The decision on tires should be made some time this month or very early next month and should be announced on the NorCal IKF website asap.
Thats all for now. Hope to hear from everyone on the Dec 15 conference call.
Happy Holidays!

Were the Gold Rush and Crossover schedules decided? It would be nice if we could publush a calendar to all attendees of our meeting so we can see what's what. I realize that the agenda item at this meeting is not to create an actual schedule for us, but discuss number of races. Personally I'd like to see thelandscape before I even can formulate an opinion on that.

Go to bluemaxkartclub.com
Although I am no longer a member I am still active in updating information. I already put in the 2010 schedule for Blue max, the Crossover races, and the IKF schedule.

I had a couple of minutes and thought I would transfer the schedules from the Norcal site. I have a one page sheet showing all of the club schedules for Stockton and Atwater but I don't know how to upload it without typing in the whole thing.
Keep in mind the schedule from Norcal shows the weekend dates. Most races are Sunday, but I think Stockton is always on Saturday (??).
