Ahhhhh, I see. You just want to see me going into turn 11 at Infineon doing about 80 when my kart snaps in half (like my first one did) with the ass end going one way, the front end going another way and me (being the heaviest part) slamming into the wall, huh?!??! LOL Admit it! Ya know, if all I did was sprint racing I wouldn't be super concerned with the grind/weld thing. But having a kart going to pieces on a road track gives me the willes. Plus, God only know what welding the frame in 4 spots would do to the handling.

Cory, considering the $20 spots are 20X60 do you really think we need 2 of them?

Brad, injured.... never.... I understand that. You going to look for a new frame, or a complete roller? As far ask spots.... I am all game for room, but if its just you and I 20 x 60 well have enough room for the pool...

I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. My first kart was a used (REALLY used) Margay and it literally broke in half (hence my reluctance to try and fix this one and go RRing). I sent Keith some pictures and they were kind enough to send me a new frame at no charge even though I was at least the 3rd owner and, as he said, it appeared the chassis had been ridden hard and put away wet. Another option is John's Emmick is back on the market. It's only a little over a year old and I know it handles very well after taking it for a test drive last year. I don't need his WF engine but I'm sure I could sell it pretty easily. A third option came up after showing my wife what had happened. She said why don't you just buy a new one? Whaaaaaa??? I'd prefer to do that but I really don't want to spend that much.

Keith got back to me yesterday and they are willing to send me a new frame for $450. I'll probably go that route.
Pit spots, while 20X60 is a lot of room, only 14X14 is on pavement (with the rest on dirt or grass) I ended up reserving two of them. I figured $20 over nearly a week wasn't too bad. We have spots 82 & 83.

This weekend? You do realize the race is the weekend after this weekend, right? 5-29-10. Not that it would matter to me as I'm doing a major upgrade this weekend and then one of my clients is moving on Memorial weekend (which is why I have to miss the race).

I was sort of wondering that myself. I'll see if Don knows. One good piece of news is that Margay is shipping me a new frame today so I should have something to race. LOL

Well you have the stuff to race now we just need to get you the time!!!! May need to off someone eh... My suspect on the tires since all of the road races this year are IKF sanctioned we will be following their approved rules which say we have to use the new tires..... but i could be wrong.

Yeah if I had to guess I'd agree with you. In most NCK races (even when they are considered IKF races) pretty much anything goes. For the GNs I'd think that YKCs would be required...and I just happen to have a set of stickers sitting in my garage.
