Hi every one hows it going I am building a kart for next season I am new to Karting so any and all advice would be appreciated greatly as far as parts to buy and run I would like to know like size of axle and so on. Duffy hooked me up with some great sites already and thanks for a deal on the frame too.
I will not turn down any part donations .
How do you get your number ? I have some numbers I want to run but I would like to see if any one is running them and if not how and if I can secure one.

Numbers: Look at the results page once it gets posted (maybe even this weekend) and you can see what numbers are already in use. Add to the results page the numbers of the peeople who have not come out to play yet this year - 42 and 10. A 3 digit number is safest.
Axle: 1 1/4" axles are DIRT cheap and so are the associated bearings and cassettes. But if the chassis you have has any of those in it already don't change sizes. I don't think clones develop enough side load to utilize any potential difference in axle sizes. However, the most popular size at the track is 40MM, if you ever need a spare everyone has them that size right at the track.
There is no reason you should not be targeting having it together *this* season. Seriously. Get the parts together and a couple of us could stop by and have it raceworthy in a day.

Paidroe, Sure was nice meeting the other day. While cleaning up I found a couple of parts. One was a seat that I used last year and maybe a set of side pods. not sure if theyt will fit. If things go right we can have you on the track this season racing with us and having a great time. As far as number , you will need to look around see who is running what number or put it out here and we will let you know if we think someone is running it. But there sure are allot of open numbers in our class, its a new class so really its also your pick. Give me a call next week and stop by for the seat if you want it. Your going to have a blast. next race you might want to stop out and visit . we will be at the Kinsmens Track in Dixon on 4/18/2010. you can meet a bunch og great guys and gals plus see what others are doing with there karts. be sure to check our 2010 Schedule on the side bar. See you at the races Duffy #48

The combination of an SKM caliper and American 5/8" front bearings gives me a brain cramp. What brand chassis do you have?
A 219 chain breaker won't work, you need a 35 chain breaker (all of us have one that can be borrowed)
Several of us have safety wire pliers that can be borrowed as well.

It is a Emmick that is all I know I don't know what model or how to find out sorry I sound like a D.A. but like I said I am new to karting
I think it is a monza chassis cause the spindles that Emmick sell look just like the one's on it now.
The chassis Duffy # 48 ran last year
