Hi guys, If you have a Max-Torque clutch and was wondering if the strange wear pattern is normal, I asked the question on Bob's 4-cycle forum and alse emailed Mx-Torque and thought I would share my findings here ..... My clutch looks like this i518.photobucket.com/albums/u349/wormoid/clone/c1.jpgi518.photobucket.com/albums/u349/wormoid/clone/c3.jpgi518.photobucket.com/albums/u349/wormoid/clone/c2.jpgRather lop sided, eh ? Jim from Max-Torque said .... That is the normal wear mark on the shoes and the drum. But I would suggest taking the sprocket out of the drum and let the sprocket and bushing sit in a cup of 30 weight oil overnight to get oil back into the bushing. The garter spring wants to roll the shoe inward as it goes toward the drum and only the bottom 1/4 of the shoe gets the wear mark on it. That is the initial tick to the drum and by the time you rev up another 400rpm the complete shoe is locked against the drum turning as one piece.I guess I just need to be more conservative on the lube and keep on running it ! Simon.
