CLONE CLASSIC July 3rd 2010 Just noticed that more clone classes have been added to the event. This is the 3rd (or 4th?) revision of the flyer and if I remember correctly it started out with only 1 clone class! www.allstarkarting.com/subpages/CallingClones.pdf

Oh yes ..... and the JR-1 2-Cycle has now been changed to HPV-1. Not sure I'm into the idea of racing for money though .... still on the fence with this one.

What the heck is PRO box stock The quandary of what to do. I want to race against the best racers. Or do I admit my age and limited skills and race in the old man bracket. I'm with you Simon, I think the money race could bring out the wrong motivation. The clone class does not need the rule creep, or budget increases that come with upper echelon drivers & teams Rich #415

Les told me at the last race that there was a "Pro" and "Ameteur" class split, but now he has added "Masters" as well. Darn it now all of us that qualify as Masters need to choose (or run 2 classes).
I would really like for all of us to run together in the "ametuer" division (which now appears to pay $100 to win) if nothing else as a sign of the solidarity of our group. However I will defer to the general opinion of the group....what do we wanna do?

I'll just run one class, as Daniel will probably run HPV-1. Like you say Brad, it would be good if we all choose one class as our 'core solidarity' class, then people can run additional classes if they like. I'm happy with Amateur. Masters would remove the young 'uns which wouldn't be very fair.

I talked to Les at the SKUSA ProMoto tour, we are expecting a lot of old karters that were top guns in there day, think of a field of Jeff Nelsons, Vince Pulieo's etc, so this is a chance for the front runners to give the other guys a chance and race against some of the best karters that NorCal has produced... just with a few more pounds and gray hair! I also mentioned that the $300 purse was not really in the spirit of what we started, I don't think $100 will inspire anyone to cheat. I plan to run pro, just to have another shot at Jeff & Vinnie!
