Hi all,
Going to order an ARC DJ-1015 and figuring out what bits to get with it. The engine (or engines if I get two) is destined for a cadet kart for 10 year old (don't have chassis yet) and/or possibly my Intrepid Explorer.
I guess the header choice is easy - the first option lists AKRA/WKA. How about the clutch? 16T good for Dixon? Even for my son?
Regarding my kart, its got front brakes and an Aixro rotary fitted right now with a custom 428 chain setup on 50mm axle. I wanted to give this engine a try on there just to see what its like - and maybe even race if I can figure out how to drive karts! Crazy idea?? Should I find space for another chassis (yikes).
Any cadet chassis that I should use/avoid due to fitment issues with the clone?
Oh yeah, and if I took mine or the cadet to my local track (Infineon) would they even let them on the track? I am going to concentrate on Dixon as I like it a lot but is an extra hours drive each way.
Thanks, Mike.

Hi Mike,
I am trying to get my son in to the clones as well and Dixon is certainly a friendly place to do it at. We race out of Blue Max at Davis and they are great there as well.
It seems most are using a 16t clutch for the seniors. I am fairly new to this and that was what was recommended to me.
As to the header..that's a good question as I was reading the clone rules for kids classes and they talk about stock exhaust. So i am not sure if the standard headers that you see on the seniors are legal for the Jr classes or not. In fact I would love the answer to that myself. Hey Brad (or Brad : ), or anyone else out there with answers to this? Thanks, Terry

I recommend an aftermarket exhaust. I tried running the stock exhaust and they didn't last (two in one day). The joint between the pipe and the box fatigues and cracks.
Have any of the local shops started carrying clone parts (i.e. parts on their shelves)?
