Hello Rich I need some help with The clutch on my Clone. When I test fit the clutch I notice the key-way slot only travels to near the end of the shaft. The key will not go into the key channel when I place it into the slot.. I also noticed the clutch Key channel only travels half way Thru the clutch as well. do i use the key in the keyway ?If you can help me understand this it would be nice.
thanks Walter

What clutch do you have ? My Max-torque came with bolt, washer etc.

All of my clutches also came with a bolt, large washer, lock washer. Max-Torque, and Noram. I think the crank end is tapped with a 8mm bolt. Double check because I have read where some side covers and cranks had SAE threads. Don't force it.
Check Bobs 4 cycle forums/clutches and do a search. There are lots of little tid bits to set it up right on the shaft.

Mine did too but I thought it was 5/16-24 thread. I'll have to double check it to be sure. I read somewhere that some clone engines have the metric threads but that SAE are more common. Also my MaxTorque clutch has the key built in, so you just slip it onto the shaft (with the sprocket either inboard or outboard) and install the bolt with large flat washer and lock washer on it. You want the clutch to "float" on the shaft so don't bother trying to shim it up. ~Karl
