Hi All,
What types of lubricants should I get for use at the track? Are the following good?
Chain Lube: I got some Motul Chain lube road (spray can).
Motor Oil: I got some Shell 30 wt non-detergent (for break-in), and some Power Plus+ synthetic 4 cycle oil (for normal use).
Wheel Bearings: I don't know what to use on these. What do you use?
Others: Any more that I didn't list, that I should get?
Thanks, Mark

Motor Oil: I use Redline oil in my clone because it is widely available in the area and because i found it gave my engine a few more rpm's
Wheel Bearings: I just give them a shot of Tri-flow

Thanks for the input Sean. Do you need to put anything on the (paper ?) conical air filter for the carb?

Here is everything in my lubricant tote:
Genie garage door opener lube. Arguably the best chain lube out there, cheap at Lowes. The RedLine oil is a good recommendation. Drive to your nearest Karagen, buy their very best oil. 'nuff said. K&N air filter oil. An empty bottle for draining used oil into. Tri-Flow spray. Wheel bearings, steering bushings, etc. WD-40 - Spray the entire kart if you ever get stuck in the rain like today at Dixon. The "WD" stands for "Water Displacement", meaning if you have water in a bearing the WD will push it out. Furniture polish - It makes your kart shiny, lemon fresh, and slippery in the air. Orange goo - cleaning agent that will wash any of the above off your hands.

Thanks Brad. That is a good list. I thought I might need the K&N air filter oil, but I wasn't sure.

Hey Sean I'm with you on Redline oil. I use the 20w Race which is actually 5w-20w, is that what you run? Could you please list a few of the places that sell the Redline oil in your area so that folks know where they can go to get it. Thanks ~Karl

Are you all cleaning or lubing the air filter? If so, when and with what? I haven't done anything with that filter since I put it on....maybe I should be

When it gets dirty wash with warm soapy water, blow with compressed air from the inside out to dry, then oil it (lightly) with K&N spray air filter oil before use. Whenever you have the filter off always check the inside of the airfilter adaptor / carb inlet to make sure dirt has not been getting passed the air filter. Not a good sign if it is, as dirt can wear a set of rings out in no time flat.

Red-line is good, but "KLOTZ" is BETTER!
