So far I've just had my two clones on their run-in Shell ND oil. Time for first change. I just found a box of Mobil 1 15-50W and a couple of quarts of 5-30W. Two questions;
1) Not racing for a while so a few RPM is not going to make a diff - would either of these Mobil oils be OK for practice karts?
2) Should the first change be made to fully-synthetic or perhaps I should use Shell ND 30W one more time?
Thanks, Mike.

In my opinion, the oil you use really depends on how hard you are pushing it, and how often you change it. If you are using anything better than Walmart Oil and changing oil once every hour of runtime, no worries. The 15W-50 will limit top revs by 100 or so.

OK Cool! Thanks.
I guess I'll use the 10W30 in the clone and leave the 15W50 for my Hovercraft Intec Twin engine. Hate to waste it... After that I'll get some 20W.
Suppose the first number is not important for air cooled engines and our climes.
