Section 401.17.3.a Clutch/Chain Guard A clutch/chain guard shall protect the participant from coming into contact with the clutch/chain. The top and side of an inboard clutch must be covered in such a way as to protect the clutch from coming into contact with driver and or seat. This rule will become effective January 2011. This rule was passed unanimously during the Oct 2009 IKF Phone Board Meeting. I haven't seen an official anouncement on this from IKF anywhere but a racer from Arizone posted on Bob's that the track he races at under IKF rules will be implementing this rule the first of the year. A couple companies already offering guards with side coverage are Jex Manufacturing & Gecker. You can also modify your existing clutch cover by adding a plate to cover the outside of the clutch, either welded or bolted on. ~Karl

Does the seat stay count as 'a way as to protect the clutch from coming into contact with driver and or seat' ?
I don't have much clearance to add a whole hell of a lot on the outside of the clutch.

I'll have to check, but I don't think a single track we are running at this year uses IKF insurance, which would be the only reason we would implement this here. However, we run by AKRA rules for the clones, and BNSS for F200, so we do need to check into this for WF only.

I'm pretty sure several of the tracks ran IKF this year I know Dixon did. 2011 may be another story though. Following the same reasoning maybe we can get away with not running the full width bumpers, again except for maybe WF.
