How many people would be interested in a dirt oval race? I am 100% sure we could do one as part of someone elses program in either Dixon or Lodi. Entry fees would be similar to what we normally pay.

Thousands of people race karts on dirt back east every week. You need to make sure your air filter is in good shape, well oiled, and on tight. Spray your entire kart with Lemon Pledge beforehand, and the dirt won't stick.
These are both hard clay tracks, so there will be dust, but we won't be slinging mud everywhere. It is a very different driving experience, we would run our standard tires so finding grip and driving super smooth is the key.

Oh boy, wait till Karl hears about this, seeing hes going to WF next year I can see his clone at Vallejo speedway next year on the dirt 1/16 or whatever that thing is, looks fun as all get out, I know a few of us did it last year as a bearded lady show, but if the numbers show up we can pull off a good show, I'm game. maybe we can start a whole new tread on which gears to run.

I ran the STAR class on the dirt years ago on a emmick viper 2. It was a freaking blast. During the first edition of the Dixon gold rush. My daughter and I went and checked out the oval. They seemed pretty open to have "flat karts " race out there. Since they already race them out there. Check out there web site.
I bought Gwen a outlaw kart to run out there. I can't wait for that. I'm in the process of making it pink and getting it hello kitties out

Actually the two tracks I am thinking of are Cora speedway (Right next door to the Kinsmen kart club in Dixon) or the Lodi Cycle Bowl. Both are 1/5 mile clay ovals, both race at night, both are reasonably smooth. A 1/5 mile oval will use about the same gearing as a 1/2 mile sprint track, so nobody needs to buy anything special to make it work.

Delta Raceway, rite next to the Motorplex at the Stockton Fairgrounds, Kenny tried it once and only 5 or 10 people showed up, but he had the track in great shape

Problem with Delta is the concrete wall coming off turn 4. Tore up several karts on that in 2000.
