Looking for feedback for EC Birt

Hi All,

I'm looking for feedback on this deal by EC Birt. I need 2 engines for my kids and perhaps a back up for the 3 of us. Any input? Especially on the $199 deal. Thanks! Terry

This is the email he sent me:

We contacted DUPOR and they sent rep's to the shop for a meeting with Carroll... They got a cooks tour of our operation and knew we was serious about working with them...

They got a sample engine to us and Carroll took this engine and went step by step thru it and videos were made of every step and sent to them with the needed changes ... Then, the sample engine was gone thru and all noted needs laid out to be followed to the letter by the engine rules for this class all the way down to a thinner head gasket to be installed at engine completion... To assure of no problems, sample engine was package with back up notes and flown to them for our production order...

In short, this engine was designed by us to go into the box with what was needed to run right out of the box and the engine builders were not left out of this in any way... We know what they need and gave them the best piece possible to work with... And this is what we have now in stock.. This engine has no markings on it... But does come in our own box and Sticky on Blower Cover and box has printed on it Kart Racing Engine and can't be sold to anyone but us in NORTH AMERICA .... And meets all rules for the class as written...

First, E.C. is a stand up company that has been in karting since the 1960's.

They do have a bit of a reputation for "chest thumping", sometimes they start believing thier own reputation too much....

Shipping will be close to $40.00, but all you need is the restrictor plates for the kids and you are good to go.

I think the George Bark deal I posted the other days saves a few pennies, but this deal gets you everything in one box.

Thanks Brad for the feedback. Actually the $199 deal is free freight shipping. I did send him an email asking what the "killer cam" is (I assume it's a Cl1 but who knows). I think this is all the pieces and I put them on but I that shouldn't be too bad with the engine already prepped. Also I asked just to be sure that this is all AKRA legal.

Both are great deals but remember the EC deal doesn't include a header pipe or muffler.

I think Bark is just a prepped engine correct? I still would need all the parts and to put it all together as well. Either way I need to purchase the accessory kits, restrictors, header/mufflers, mounts and clutches. Does Bark include anything but the prepped engine?

You are correct, Bark is just the prepped engine. ARC charges $85.00 for "everything else" so it ends up $5.00 more.

If the E.C. deal is free shipping jump on it, that makes it a steal.

I got one today, best deal going, nice air cup too, make sure you tell them your runnin AKRA rules so you get correct emulsion tube in carb, I'm gonna order another on tomorrow

I ordered 2 today (for my 2 sons). Got the rest of the gear coming from ARC and the motor mounts from BMI.
