We had a chance to hookup with some of the clone drivers this weekend at Davis. These are the DAVIS clones, not to be confused with the DIXON clones. A father and his two sons came out with their karts. They THOUGHT about racing but then decided against it because they are still very new to karting. They were very excited to have a resource (us) to help them along with things. They will be at our May test session and are looking to race at the final Xover.
By the way, they were running 45s at Davis. Not bad considering they had never been in karts before. And, judging by their tires (about 3/8" of track rubber build up) they haven't yet really been pushing things.
The seemed like a real nice family and I look forward to helping them out.

I feel we will be ready to race by the next one at Prairie City on the 3rd of May if this is right. We would like to get together with you guys real soon at the track, Besides my two sons , We have 2 maybe 3 more drivers with karts for this class for the next Prairie City race. (all of us are new to racing and could use the help). Yep, We want to race. Feel free to call us. 916- 710-3919. Thanks Duffy and Sons

It was nice meeting you guys, as well. I believe the next PC race is May 31, so you'll have some time to prepare. Hopefully you can pick up simple rpm gauges for your karts before testing, so you are sure to not over rev your motors. I won't be able to make the PC practice this time because I have a race in Redding on that weekend, but I'll be at PC for the race. Hope to see you then!

We had a fun time talking with you guys. Glad you found our little on-line home. Please come by often!
I'm sure we will be out at PC sometime in the next couple of weeks. Once we figured out the definite schedule I'll give you a call to make sure you are aware of what we are up to.

You know, if you guys bring more clones, it just might turn into the biggest class. Maybe I should finally put one together...

Worth noting is not a single clone has shown up for a race yet. A little early to call them the biggest class! It's kind of like "dark matter", where everyone says it is there in great volume, but nobody can put some in a jar and send it to me.

LOL, also worth noting is that if JUST Duffy and his boys come to next race they will equal the total number of F200s in the main event last weekend.

Looking at it that way, if only Duffy and his sons show up with his clones, I will wonder why we all stayed home...

Number of F200's in the main event! Are you making fun of me because I did not grid in the main event?

Hey, I might even show up with an F200 for the next race, speaking of F200s...

I might show up with one that runs. Oh, wait a minute, it's been a week and the trailer still isn't unloaded. Have you ever had one of those weeks. I am planning on going to Davis on Sunday for my son to practice, and for me to hopefully get both my other karts running after a mechanical calamity this last weekend. If the clones are planning on coming out we can hook up and I can help with starts, lines, etc.

Given the weather I am obviously not going to the track today. I did, however, unload the trailer. Now all I have to do is work on the karts to get them running again. I am taking baby steps to getting them ready for the next race.

Congrats on the trailer unloading Ron!! By the way, I wasn't making fun of you at all earlier in the thread. I felt bad you were having such tough luck that day. Luckily we've got a month before the next race. I've got to do a bunch of stuff on my kart as well.

My son's and I will be at Davis 5/17 wanting to race. We have two others with clones who are friends of ours also planning to be there. We would really like it if there were others who would be interested in racing if they had clones also. Which ever the case we will be there and sure could and welcome any help or advice. See you at the race sunday. Thanks Duffy & Son's

Duffy, glad you are going for it, and not basing your choice on how many other drivers there will be. There are bound to be a lot more clone drivers out there in the future if you keep on showing up. As well, you are really fortunate to have the blessings and support of the Blue Max Kart Club at Davis, so I'm glad you are taking them up on their offer to be a mentor to you guys.
I'll be racing in Redding on the 17th, but hope to see you on Sunday the 24th for practice at Prairie City...
