I know the spark is pretty weak on clones but I've tried none, one, two, three and four wraps and still it bounces all over the place. Even at higher RPMs its pretty much unreadable. Is this the norm? Would shielded wire help?

Try stuffing the tach wire as far as you can straight down into the plastic sleeve covering the spark plug wire. Finish with a couple wraps, a small zip tie and you should be good to go.

Yup, what Karl said. Failing that, connect the black mychron wire onto the killswitch wire. Not tried that myself, but that is supposed to work on the World Formula motors, so I'm going to give that a shot.

The wire needs to run parallel with the plug wire. If you don't have a sleeve tie wrap the sensor wire to the plug wire.

wire it direct to the kill switch wire, Scoots showed me that trick, works perfect.

Excellent! Thanks for the tips. I stuck a bullet connector on the end of the wire and connected it to the open bullet female that was already on the kill switch/coil wire.
Works great! Even looks tidier too. and quick to disconnect to boot...
Thanks again Mike.
