Hey Dean, welcome. IF I remember right, I was using a 15/64 at the last PC race. The thing is, I only had one test session at PC in my WF before the first race. I'm not entirely confident that is be best gear for that track. During our test session on the 23rd....uh, oh, I just realized the 23rd is my wedding aniversary. Hmmmmmmm. Well, what I was going to say is I was going to start with a 64 (primarily because it is already on my kart from Thunderhill) and then go down to a 62 and then up to a 66 and compare the times.
How long have you had a WF Dean? We should hookup out at the track sometime. We have the 23rd scheduled but I'm going to have to figure out if I can make it out that day or maybe the 24th instead.

You can bring your wife to the track on the 23rd, and I'll even let her drive my kart. Now THAT's what I call an anniversary gift!
Funny, when I mentioned me going to race in Reno in June, my wife's only question was if it falls on our anniversary... I explained to her that our calender is not accurate enough to concern herself with the exact day, and that sometime in June is close enough...
I don't think she bought it, but I have convinced myself...

I have every gear from 57-72 in my box, all I have ever used is 61-69, and I have plumb wore out several 64/65/66. For what it's worth....

Thanks guy's for all the great Info. Sounds like the mid 60's is a good place to start, Is that with a 15 in the front? I just purchased the WF in fact it is being shipped to me as I am writing this. I have had a couple of karts in the past, The last one I had was a Star motor. I am looking forward to meeting up with people and having some real fun. What track do you guy's primarily run at ? .
Thanks Again,
Dean

Dean, my last motor prior to the F200 was a STAR. The real difference is the WF has zero torque compared to the STAR, so you have to be as smooth as possible to not scrub off any speed. Momentum is everything with the WF. We actually don't have a "home track", we are a travelling show that runs 6 different Norcal sprint tracks through the course of a season (schedule here www.norcal4cycle.com/2009%20Season%20-%20F200%20Cup.htm), and WFs are well represented at Thunderhill and Infineon roadrace tracks as well.

www.download3k.com/Install-Kart-Data-2000.htmlthis program is easy to load and it will help you with your gear ratios. I should have used it at Dixon when I ran a 66, when I should of run a 62 or 61, 8950 at 3/4 of the way down the staight is a little much. Especially when you get passed four times, each time at the end of the straight......

Dean, most of us are in the Sacto area (Folsom for me) but our members come from as far away as Oakland in one direction and past Red Bluff in the other.
Our current class weight is 340# (which will be changing to at least 365 next year). But John is the only WF guy that even comes close to that at 355ish. I'm usually in the 375 range expect last weekend at TH where I was drenched. That day I cam in closer to 390.

Dean - I have a XXL seat you can have. Its a PITTS fully carpeted seat with very few holes in it. PaulW gave it to me earlier this year and it turns out its too big for me so you can have it.
If you want me to bring it to PC for the x-over on May 31st I will bring it. Or if you want it earlier than that, you can stop by and pick it up at my house. I'm in the So. Sac area. Call me if you need directions. I will be out of town on business from 5/11 - 5/18. We can hook up after that if you want.
