Well, hopefully by next practice I will be getting acquainted with my Kohler F200, which I am getting with 5 total races on it since new. Now we can find out first hand about the Kohler. The price is right, so I am going for it. (Yes, BradW, I sacrificed Thunderhill to scrape the money together)
All I need now is a clutch...

Shoot man, if you can get a motor for the price of a race entry that is a helluva deal.
I've got a couple of clutches that may work for you.

I paid the second half of my balance last week, and it is due to arrive next Tuesday. So, I won't have it at the practice this weekend, which means I will still run the Animal at PC on the 31st. However, I hope to race it in June...

Brad, are you using the Dragginskin clutch for sprint tracks?

Brad, are you using the Dragginskin clutch for sprint tracks? I am not. I have considered it, but need to buy a 15 tooth driver for it. Due to my non-racing status the last 6 months I have forced myself to not spend ANY money on karting until I am back to racing regularly.

OK. I am wondering if it would work well... The price is right...

To be honest if I had a Kohler i would run the Draggin Skin, because the Kohler is a couple of inches wider than a Yamaha. But a Kohler with a Draggin Skin and a Yamaha with a disk clutch are the same width.

Paulski - you gotta get that Kohler thing out to the track! I am seriously interested to see and hear it run. I was wondering if anyone would venture into semi-uncharted territory with the Kohler. Thanks for having the "Paulski's" to make this happen . I heard from Mike Burris there are some folks in Wisconsin that have been developing them and got them to run fairly well. Mike claims the motors are very "peaky", but I would expect that from a Yami dealer. Look forward to mixin' it up with ya bud! -PV

PaulV, I can't wait to see if I can run with you! I won't have it out tomorrow, but my plan is to start racing it in June. I hope the Kohler fairs well, and we can have some good racing, in the spirit of F200.

With any luck, my weak, underpowered Kohler F200 should arrive today...

Do you know who built it?

Mike Clements was the builder.

Then it will be neither weak nor underpowered. You do realize that Mike Clements holds the world's speed record on a go kart right? I hope you have good brakes.
