Stupid question here but in looking for a kart I've been coming across some Invader karts on craigslist and was wondering if anyone could give me information about the company. I've search all over the internet and couldn't find any sort of website or anything for the company. Are these karts still made and can you still get parts for them? Are these karts any good or should they be avoided? I also noticed that there are a lot of Invader fun karts on CL too so not sure if that says anything about the quality of their race chassis being from a manufacturer that isn't strictly racing karts

I'm suprised Scoots hasent chimed in on this one, as he runs one, and Jeff Nelson does too, as I understand he had something to do with the now defunct company, as far as parts go there the same as the Emmick stuff except for the frame as far as I can tell, as I have one I need to put togeather after I wreck my Energy beond repair, I'm sure theres others that have the whole scoop on the company and hopefully they will add to your post, but from what Ive seen there racing chassis are pretty nice.

I'm sorry my mind has been on a weight isue. I think the 2000-2006 Invaders are some of the best in the world. As tom said, lots of the parts are interchangable from brand too brand and Invader spindles can be had through VanDeusen racing. An Invader fun kart is not an Invader race kart. Between Cole and his dad Jeff Nelson thaw have won some 25...twentyfive Duffy awards in IKF. After more than 40 years of building karts and 36 years at CAL KART in SJ it was time to turn the page. Catch me if you can in my INVADER 026 pro marage.....scoots it's time for diner

The Invader brand has been around northern california for more than 40 years, I had one in 1974.
Fun karts were the breadwinner of the business, but the racing karts are where the manufacturing passion was. Quality of the racing karts was near perfect, and as Jeff and later Cole Nelson were going through there duffy runs the development pace of the race karts was frenetic. By about 2000 things stabilized design-wise and as Scott says they were great karts. A big advantage they and the Emmicks had in northern California is that there was a YBN tire rule locally. Since both manufacturers were local, they could react to those hard-as-granite flintstone tires.
The company fell victim to financial trouble a few years back, and blew away. Most of the tooling was sold to Jerry Van Duesen in Turlock, who can make replacement parts if you need them.
Jeff Nelson still races, and won the 2010 Gold Rush clone championship on a 10 year old Invader chassis. They can still be fast.
