Don't normally like to do post other forums (you guys probably all read this anyways) but thought it was interesting enough to pop a link in here. The thing I don't understand is if you can't modify tiny things that could gain 0.1hp in the cam or carb - how can you run an oversized bore at all and gain quite a bit of power? Wouldn't everyone just bore it to the tech-passing max? My understanding of blue-printing was it would not include boring but just perhaps a hone, ring-setting and edges, transitions cleanup. karting.4cycle.com/showthread.php?t=365603

What is the stock bore when you get the WF? According to one site I found "Bore: 2.6875/2.6885 in."
If you bore over at 0.02 then you will be at 2.7075/2.7085. According to the NFRA website WF follows "8.2.1. Per IKF or WKA 2011 for Briggs World Formula." The WKA rule states max is 2.725, so you still have room to spare. Some will machine for performance, others will machine when a rebuild is needed and bore up to the next size and then have some more rebuild left in the block.
Maybe I am just all wrong. I don;t even have a WF.

All the ".1 HP" stuff drives me absoluely nuts. You have to remember that in www.4cycle.com land they all run ovals. On an oval .1 can add up lap over lap because you never hardly slow down. For us, lines, exit speeds, chassis setup, and driver skill all outweigh that .1 , guaranteed. Don't get me wrong I love that site, I have learned a ton there and have met many friends. The spirit and intent of the IKF rule on overbores is to prevent having a disposable engine class (which the clone class is, but at $99.00 who cares). The backyard racer can get many seasons out of an engine without going over the max bore. There are those that will go to the max on the initial build. If they want to spend that much to win, I say let them. Then pass 'em at the exit of turn 3 and give a lil wave and a smile... If that guy beats you, it was not the .1 that did it, it was doing all the other stuff right.

I totally agree on the .1 stuff but going to max bore (.040) is worth much more than that.
Now I admit that sprint is so much more about the driving but with equal drivers this would make a difference and might get you a qualifying spot better. I doubt many on this group (including me) would bother and having the reserves of future bores is much more valuable. Just if racing was anything more than a darn good hobby/sport (like them prokarters!!) I think it would be a must and that made me think how the WF fitted into the bigger picture.

On an F200, it makes perfect sense to go max bore first shot, because the block is a disposable item.
