I'm down if it gets cancelled. But only if the turn out is worth it. Should make it a points race so that it matters.

Did everyone see that note from Monterey Bay Karters? They are running rain-or-shine now at the request of racers.
After watching the Gatorz race at the weekend with huge plumes of water behind the karts and ez-ups being blown away I wonder how feasible it is for club level races.

The problem with running Davis in the wet is the sponge effect in some key corners...as the track heats up water is pulled out of the surface leaving puddles. It almost acts like a sponge... meanwhile... watch what is in store at rpm

The forecast for Sunday seems to be improving. Track may still be cold and there won't be any rubber on it but at least we may get the race in. Saturday looks like crap so I'm guessing I won't get any practice in going backwards (and of course I have NO idea what gear I used last time arrrrg.) I imagine there are going to be some major lakes around the track but at least going backwards most of us should be able to avoid the lake that forms on the left side at the bottom of the hill. If you DON'T miss it you may want to have your pontoons on so you can stay afloat long enough fo the recue helicopter to arrive to fish you out of the drink. LOL

I think RPM is a great idea, rain or shine, I say we just vote it into the schedule now. I vote YEA. I've got a jet ski if I want to go play in a lake.

Just received this from Blue Max:
Members,
It's looking like we will race on Sunday. If that changes we will cancel the race by 6 pm Friday.
Things to remember:
We will be running the track backwards.
Saturday practice is, of course, backwards, though looks like it will be wet Saturday.
We are adding Jr. III Box Stock Clone per AKRA rules, 12-15, no restrictor, 320 lbs, used tires only.
Local rule for Jr. Super Sportsman - Used YKC's only.
Don't forget Sportsman Masters class - KT100, 35+, 360# can, 380 # pipe, 6 or 7.1 rear tires.
The Charity race is at Infineon this Saturday. Plan to come and support Blue Max's Sean Winograd. We have the expectation that he will qualify for the main event.
So it looks like we are Racing!!

Man I got a phone call while drafting the post, then posted after a couple of minutes, and Mac beat me. I guess I am in second place.

Does anyone know if the Charity race on Saturday at Infineon will run in the showers? I am not looking forward to running this race with no practise. This will be my first race; I ran the Davis track backwards a few weeks ago and did not like it. My front end bottoms out really back in front of the grandstands and again going up the hill after those momentum killing turns.
