Are trailers safe out there? If so, thank you Simon for letting my kart bunk with yours. ;D Anyone look into hotels yet?

I'm thinking the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa on Del Monte Golf Course. I hope they have covered parking. DO you think they will stare at me when I come in all greasy and dirty? I've been looking. ;D

Cool Ron, so you are going to get a suite so everyone can have a place to stay?

That facility didn't work out. I will be staying down the street from the track at a different place. I am also going to rent an enclosed UHaul so I can feel that the stuff is somewhat secure.
It has been a long time since driving that direction. That is a long haul. I am planning on leaving here around 9 and arriving around 1200ish. I can get a few sessions in and then retire for the night as I am sure my back will be sore from the drive.
Anyone want to skydive while we are there? I see there is a dropzone!!!!!

Where are you going to stay Ron? I need to get something booked too. How much is the Uhaul going to run you?
Brad and I had talked about caravaning down to Monterey. Not sure what route everyone plans on taking down there but when me and the Mrs. head down there we usually go down 80/680 and come back on 5. It really doesn't matter to me. Anyone else up for meeting maybe somewhere around Davis and heading down together?
Oh and lastly, who all is going!??!! ;D

I looked at so many I actually forgot. I checked my emails and it is the Comfort Inn just down the street. It is one listed on the track website. I picked it because it had truck parking. Others I saw had just regular parking so I didn't want to chance not being able to park a trailer.
The trailer is $20 a day. I will pick up Saturday Morning and drop off Monday before I go to work. That will be $40. I think it is a 5-8. They have a 6-10 but don't think I need that big. I am getting my chains and locks in place so I can secure it in the parking lot.
I'm taking the Mapquest route. I5 south to CA33 and then just follow what it tells me. Most likely I will stop every now and then, as needed for my back.

I haven't been on I5 lately but I suspect the right (truck) lane with be bumpy given CA's maintenance budget. Hwy152 is probably not much better. Consider 80/680/101 instead.

Is there going to be an area set aside for us in the pits?

I'll be there probably around 11ish Saturday morning.
Anyone taken a guesstimate on gearing ?

The gearing for a WF ranges from 15-60 to 63. Most run 61 or 62. F200 is probably close to that. Clone is around 15-66

Looks like I'm heading down this afternoon as well. Staying at the KOA. So much for that plan. KOA doesn't allow people to sleep in their cars apparently. Arrg.

Tell them you will be under a tent. Just don't tell them your tent is the underside of your car. Then sleep under the car, not in it.

LOL Don't think that would work as they don't allow tents either. What the hell kind of camping doesn't allow tents! They should rename it RVOA or something. d'oh!
Anyway, got a room booked. I was looking at the Motel 6 in Marina but by the time I got back to it they didn't have any rooms left. So now I'll be at the Salinas Motel 6 instead. Not a terribly bad price ($61 +tax), especially when everything else in that neck of the woods seems to be at least $100 (and that is for the places where people were complaining about bed bugs LOL).
If anyone is still trying to figure out their accommodations, the room has 2 double beds so if you want a bed/shower for $30 I don't have a problem sharing the room. Regardless of what my wife says I don't snore THAT loud. LOL

No tents! That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
