Dave at Emmick told me that he heard from two people that Davis will not be included in the Gold Rush series because of the technical snafus at the Xover. We both lamented that that would be a real shame. Ron, can you confirm this? And if so, could you provide some details?

My question to Ron is: Can Blue Max still have a race on that date? I for one would still like to keep the date on the NFRA calendar. I should be healthy and back to racing by then (knock on wood).

It is still our regular club race. Given that the Gold Rush is a major event I would really like to see Blue Max get it back. However, given the major problems at the Crossover, the difficulties with the system, and the fact that the June 21, Gold Rush date is right around the corner, I don't know if that is a possibility.
We just purchased a new computer and related hardware to replace at the track. We are hoping a complete test this weekend will be successful. We also have many transponders to repair. We are then going forward with our May 17, 2009, race. We hope the race will go forward without any problems thereby proving that the system is up and running.

Ron, here is a thought. Rather than giving up the GR race entirely, why not switch dates with a track whose date is later on in the summer? That you you guys will have a chance to get everything installed and tested with a race or two and then things should be dialed in when it is Davis' turn for the GR?

Our cooperation with the other clubs is paramount in making karting successful. When the decisions were being made the system at the track did not work and there was no known repair at the time.
Last week a new computer and accessories were purchased, along with a new printer. It was not known of the new equipment would work with the old software.
I am happy to announce that the weekend test race sessions was successful. The new computer got loaded with the program but they had to get a new type of adapter cord to make it work with the track. A five (5) kart qualifying, heat, and Main was run without incident. The system worked perfectly. I am looking forward to a smooth May 17, 2009, to again confirm Blue Max's track equipment is fully functional.

Ron - if the next test is successful, will Blue Max consider adding the GR race back into the schedule?

Obviously we want to host the series, but it is not completely up to us. We are trying to work cooperatively with the other clubs to make the entire series a success.
