Mark and I were sorry to miss you all and we heard that it was a great crowd (30 clones?). How was it? How'd you all do? Come on, share the dirt! ;D

As of yesterday morning Rich's kart seemed to contain the most dirt. He should have enough to share with anyone that needs some.

It was pretty d**n fun! I'm not sure of the total kart count but I THINK there were about 25ish clones and then the 5 of us in F200/WFs. It was a real shame, however, that Scoots was all by himself in an F200 and there were only 4 WFs. The total count was around 80. There were more out of towners than they expected (especially clones). Travis said that's because they got the word out that the NFRA was coming and folks assumed we'd be bringing a bunch of people like we normally do. The racing was absolutely nuts. I hope Simon's video turns out to give you guys a sense of just how crazy it was. I know of at LEAST 2 clone karts that lost one of their rear wheels during a race. One of those happened right in front of me going down the hill in turn 5. It was almost comical watching the wheel go through the infield almost as fast as the kart was. He/she kept looking back at the sparks coming from where his/her left wheel used to be almost as if they were trying to figure out what happened. LOL We ran the first heat based on qualifying time. Scoots was on pole (of course) and Cole, in his CLONE was on off-pole! Once the race started it turned into a bang fest for the most part with lots of folks off the track. I think it is fair to say that after that race we were thinking W T F is this? Kind of a buzz kill sort of thing. I was actually glad that Terry and Mark didn't make the trip at that point. In the second heat and main the pack was broken into two (F200/WF and clones) and that seemed to work out better. Still lots of people wrecking and going off the track but at least we weren't involved (well, cept for Rich ) As always the folks from NNKC treated us very nicely. They bought everyone pizza early in the evening and then Travis BBQed for us not once, but TWICE during the night. Thanks Travis and Em. I'm sure there is much more but since I'm supposedly working right now I should stop here. More to come...

Reno was awesome ! The night race lived up to all the talk. NNKC hospitality was over the top. Pizza, BBQ, the special NFRA discount, the fab four special FREE discount . Next time if we have 5 Karts or more we need to ask for our own race. For the record I did not go off the track in the second heat. I think I lost it in the first practice session, then 10 laps into the main. I was however going for Ron's record of most sprockets & chains destroyed in a race weekend. Bodywork is just fine. The bottom of the kart is another matter The main question is Brad getting faster or are we getting slower?

The video came out better that I expected. Sadly the helmetcam munged up the file for the first heat, so I lost that. I have the 2nd heat and the main though, which have their moments for sure. I'll post a link once edited and uploaded.

I really wish I could have made it. To make the initial drive and get rained out, and then have to miss this race really ____ed. Don't forget I had a cracked sprocket carrier too. The only way I could have had one more chain and sprocket mishap would be to have trashed them in the main. The main was the only session I kept my junk together.

The main question is Brad getting faster or are we getting slower? And yes .... Brad 'no idea what my laptimes are' Wunder has suddenly emerged as the hot-shoe in a WF ! Jeez guys, what are you trying to say? That I suck so bad it is a huge surprise to see me knock off a lap in the 53s?? hehehehe I told you'all that after exhaustive research into my track notes I found that when I run Team Margay graphics I can trim a second or more from my laptimes. I just feel more "racy". ;D I do have to give credit to Scoots (for the Reno results at least) for tweaking my setup a bit. Sure is a lot easier to drive faster when your kart goes where you point it. Thanks Scoots! Scott already sent me the points update so I'll get the site updated as soon as I get a Pic of the Week (hint hint Simon as you were the only person taking pictures I think, right?).
