Came out abetter than expected. A bit dim on video, but captures the essence of racing around the high desert at midnight ! Forgot to set up the GPS telemetry, so added more commentary subtitles instead. Missed the sparking flying off wheel completely, not sure how, as I saw it with my own eyes ! Heat 1
sorry camcorder ate the file Heat 2www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0fDQnLvyDQMainwww.youtube.com/watch?v=r7gIGk_EVfkWe HAVE to get this on next year's schedule.

Ya the Reno night race has been a favorite for a long time, sorry I missed it. I was severely Jet lagged from a week in Austin Texas.

It looked like fun (but a bit scary). I enjoyed the commentary!

... (but a bit scary). ... The night races can be a little deceptive on the eyes. I remember racing Dixon's night race. I made it through practice, qualifying, Heat, and almost all of the main without incident. I was on the last corner of the race on the last lap, and the lack of light going into the corner gave me the impression I was off line in the middle of the corner and going wide. Not realizing someone was right behind me (and I mean on my bumper), I lifted. I ended up being pushed and spinning out of control. The other racer went on for 100 feet and finished the race. The racer behind me ran up apologizing at the scales. I accepted full responsibility. I asked how my line was in the corner and he said perfect, and that is why he was shocked when I lifted. On a night race in particular you have to be mentally alert the entire time of the race. I lost mental alertness just 100+ feet from the finish line and paid the price. Good thing it wasn't NFRA or I would be paying some kangaroo bucks. However, the night races are fun, and I am sorry I was not able to make it.

Thanks for posting the video Simon. Considering the light level it came out remarkably well! GJ! The commentary cracked me up. Oh, and I've got one for you.... Q-how many teeth does it take to get ahead of the guy with the 62 sprocket? A-64
